This is my lovely mare, Jilly. She sometimes gets tight in her neck which makes it difficult for her to flex through her neck. Today, I was joined by my work experience student, Zoe, and I took the opportunity to show her how beneficial kinesiology taping can be and this was the result! Zoe also applied tape around Jilly’s sacroiliac (SI) area to help loosen it up after we’d finished massaging. As you can see, horses can go out and even be ridden with the tape on — it stretches with their movement and stays on even if it gets wet.

This gorgeous mare is one of my regular clients. She was feeling a little tight through her back, so I began with sports massage to release and relax her muscles. I then followed up with a MagnaWave PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) session — this helps to increase circulation, reduce inflammation, and encourage muscle recovery at a deeper cellular level. To finish, I applied kinesiology taping to support and prolong the benefits of both treatments. Her owner got in touch the next day to say the tape was still perfectly in place — taping can last anywhere from two to ten days. I’m confident she’ll be feeling much looser and more comfortable after her treatments.

That’s a wrap for 2025! My diary is now full for November and December horse treatments. I still have limited availability for evening human sports massage sessions at my home.
