February has been a month of scale and precision across the Fabdec Group.

For Fabdec Dairy Systems, a 35,000 litre stainless steel silo has been completed and shipped to farm. Vessels of this size demand more than capacity alone. Structural integrity, clean fabrication, and long-term reliability all have to align to deliver dependable performance year after year.

Within EXCELSIOR Water Heating, the first of an order of 100 slimline pre-plumb vessels has now been completed and is undergoing testing this week. Designed to simplify installation, these units reduce time on site and remove unnecessary complexity, with the remaining 99 vessels currently in production.

For BRITANX Process, one of this month’s standout builds is a 1,200 litre ice cream vessel fitted with a specialised steam inlet system. By enabling controlled steam introduction during processing, the vessel enhances product texture, flavour development, and overall consistency. It is a small detail in design terms, but one that directly supports higher quality output batch after batch.

Big capacity doesn’t always mean tall.

This 3,400-litre EXCELSIOR water heater was designed with a large 1,593 mm diameter, allowing high-volume hot water storage without excessive height.

Wider-diameter cylinders like this are often specified where plantroom height is limited, or where stable performance and service access take priority over a slim footprint.

As with every EXCELSIOR build, the vessel geometry is driven by the application, not a catalogue constraint.

In process engineering, it’s tempting to reuse what worked last time.
However, no two processes behave in quite the same way.

What carries forward is experience.
Understanding how materials move, how heat transfers, where stress builds, and where tolerances actually matter.

What doesn’t carry forward is the drawing itself.

The first of 100 - built, piped, and ready for testing.

This pre-plumbed EXCELSIOR water heating cylinder has just come off the line, fully assembled and configured before leaving our factory. From valves and controls to pipework layout, everything is installed and verified in-house to ensure consistency across the full order.

For OEMs and installers, pre-plumbed cylinders remove variables on site. They reduce install time, minimise errors, and deliver a repeatable setup that performs exactly as intended, unit after unit.

With testing now underway, this first build sets the benchmark for the remaining 99.
