Busy week, 3 out of 4 services completed so far and received this wonderful feedback from a lovely funeral director.

‘Sincere thanks and appreciation for the great teamwork, communication, kindness and professionalism.’

Spreading my wings to new venues. Greenacres in Hindhead recently for a memorial service and burial of ashes in a really beautiful setting and back up the A3 yesterday to Guildford Crematorium which is quite big and very nice and the staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful. And in a couple of weeks I’m off to Aldershot Crematorium, racking up the miles but happy to be getting the work.

Well as we get into the new year the 'firsts' keep coming. Worked for a few new Funeral Directors which has been very nice indeed. Had the first 'three funeral day', and the first motorbike and sidecar hearse! Still waiting for a horse drawn funeral...but no doubt will get one eventually.

Happy New Year.
Back at it with a busy week to start the year. Not quite Four Weddings and a Funeral, but four funerals and three family meetings! Travelled lots of miles and met some lovely people, looking forward to a restful weekend!

Well today was the last funeral for me of 2025, what a year. This time last year I had no idea that I would have made this career change. But how glad I am that I did.

From a fabulous training course in February to my very first service in April, then giving up my job in August to focus solely on being a celebrant, it’s been a busy but very rewarding year.

Thank you to all the funeral directors who have had faith in me, and to the families who have entrusted me to send their loved ones on their final journey. It’s been an honour.

It’s been touching that friends have asked for me specifically to take services for their relatives.

I wish you all a very merry and peaceful Christmas and a happy new year, I will definitely be thinking of all your loved ones who are no longer here this festive season.

Another first for me yesterday, first time I have been asked by the same family to take the service for dad, having officiated at mums service just a few months ago. Very sad, but really honoured to have been asked again and especially as I had met ‘dad’ who was a really lovely gentleman.

Back from a wonderful cruise on Queen Anne. Very relaxing and rejuvenating. I'm all ready to get back to work. Had one service this week, and a couple of others lined up, the positive feedback keeps on coming for which I am very grateful. Thank you.

Busy couple of weeks, with some lovely services in Arun, Chichester, The Oaks and Portchester! I do get about!
I had the pleasure yesterday of reading out a poem that one of the deceased’s granddaughters had written, and I have to say it was an incredibly well written and very moving piece. It was a privilege to be trusted to read it. But then this whole job is an absolute privilege.

People keep asking me if I’m enjoying my retirement! 😂 Despite leaving my NHS job I am most certainly not retired. I am working very hard, but enjoying every minute! But thank you for thinking of me. 😉😘

Yet more wonderful feedback. It’s such a privilege to help at such an important time in people’s lives.

First two service day today, both lovely families that were a pleasure to work with. At both services I was asked for my business card as they were so impressed with my service. Felt a bit odd to be handing out business cards at a funeral, but very humbling that the services were so well received and appreciated.

Another lovely review received this morning. So rewarding to be helping people through a difficult time.
