Dressage despite Lupus

Haven’t sat on him for 2 weeks due to being ill & ya know…the weather! 🌧️

10 minutes of work and cools down this chilled 😎 trusting my gut and doing things my way seems to be working 🥰 one happy Gizmo! (& yes he needs clipping, that wasn’t from work but from fun with his mates in the field!!!)

This horse! I've probably sat on him 5 times in the last 3/4 weeks (& last 3.5 years) and he's never been so keen to offer everything & making it feel easy!

I'm having to be very restrained and not greedy! I want to stay on him forever but in reality he's working for 5-10 minutes max!

Next thing to face is clipping him! So far he's held it together and no big outbursts...will I be tempting fate by clipping?!!

So I’m back on the main man! He’s very tense & feels ready to explode! 💥 I’ve been sitting very quietly without trying to be too stiff lol! Let’s hope we get a break from the weather so I can get some consistent work in him!

Back on board after 3.5 years off & a hip replacement! Very lucky to ride this lovely boy Squirrel at the new yard!

Gizmo has settled in so well here with loads of turnout. Next it’ll be his go! Fingers crossed he behaves! 🤞😜

My stress levels are now so low, and due to wearing a Nurosym every day, my Lupus is the best it’s been for years…long may it last! 🥳

A little update after my 3 year hiatus! It’s Blimming lovely to have Gizmo back but still unable to get on him due to my hip. Seeing a surgeon next week so hope to have a better idea of timeframes 🤞just want to ride my boy!

Australian researchers have worked out how to fix a defect that causes lupus, and hope their world-first discovery will offer effective long-term treatment.
