For some this means certain environments such as school are overwhelming. Simple adjustments can make a big difference to school attendance, engagement, performance and well being.

Heather, our specialist play therapist works very closely with Claire, our occupational therapist, they have adjoining rooms in our new premises.

For some children and young people they feel so emotionally heightened, in a fight/flight response, that they are not ready to explore their thoughts and feelings through play until their body and mind feel safe and regulated.

Claire provides sensory, movement and interoception therapy in her specially equipped gym to ensure children are ready for Heather’s input.

Eating patterns and food intake can be a source of worry for parents, carers or young people themselves.

Changes in eating patterns are often linked to emotional well being. During early growth and puberty there is a significant risk of nutritional deficiency, also of developing a serious, life threatening eating disorder.

Early recognition and early intervention is essential. EPIC have a multidisciplinary team of Peadiatrician, Dietitian, Clinical Psychologist, Psychiatrist and Therapists who can assess, advise and provide ongoing support.
