Ebony is EPIC’s emotional support dog. She has lots of roles in supporting Heather our specialist play therapist.

Ebony is a good ‘social ice breaker’ for children and young people who find it hard to interact. Her presence provides comfort and reassurance, which reduces stress and anxiety, and promotes feelings of care and responsibility. Stroking Ebony gives positive sensory feedback and helps emotional regulation.

We ❤️ Ebony and could not imagine EPIC without her!

At EPIC we do both! We adapt our assessments as required to explore and understand whatever the presenting difficulties are for each individual child or young person. This will identify any educational, emotional, developmental, behavioural, physical or mental health needs.

EPIC will make diagnoses where appropriate but whatever the diagnostic outcome the depth of our assessments ensures we have a clear profile of strengths and difficulties to inform any support needed.

EPIC are really excited that we now have the necessary equipment in our dedicated gym to deliver Sensory Integration Therapy (SIT/ASI).

This is a specialised play-based therapy delivered by our occupational therapist to help children who struggle with processing sensory information. It helps to improve motor skills, focus, and self-regulation.

Coming soon will be photos of the different swings we have arriving from the USA to put on our ceiling fixing! For more information contact admin@epicsolutions.org.uk.

EPIC’s enhanced dietetic package is for deeper nutritional insight in children and young people with avoidant, restrictive eating patterns where there is significant concern around nutrient deficiency.

This package gives clarity, confidence and a practical plan for improving intake to address any identified risk areas.

Managing avoidant restrictive eating patterns requires an in depth assessment and formulation to develop a shared understanding of all the contributing factors and difficulties.

It is also important to know the risks to physical health through physical examination +/- nutritional analysis. Using all of this information individualised recommendations are given and a treatment plan agreed.

EPIC’s team of experienced practitioners, led by our specialist dietitian, can offer all of the above but most importantly will continue the journey alongside you through regular review of progress and ongoing support.

As part of EPIC’s environment and sustainability aspirations we have switched to ensure that all our cleaning products are environmentally friendly and safe for children and young people. This is one step in EPIC’s plans to reduce our impact on the environment and ensure we contribute positively to the well being of our community.

Well done to our management team for continuing to move us towards our goal.
