🌱 We’re hiring: Community Physical Activity Organiser 🌱

Do you believe physical activity should work for people, not the other way around?
Are you passionate about communities, wellbeing, and supporting people who are currently inactive to move more — in ways that genuinely work for them?

Wellbeing Exeter is recruiting Community Physical Activity Organisers, hosted by Exeter City Community Trust, to help individuals and neighbourhoods across Exeter make physical activity part of everyday life.

This is a people-first, community-led role — listening, connecting, supporting ideas, and helping welcoming local activity grow and thrive 💬🤝

Role highlights:
✔️ Salary: £27,053 FTE (2026–27)
✔️ 37.5 hours per week (full-time or job share)
✔️ Flexible working (some evenings/weekends)
✔️ Based in a defined area of Exeter
✔️ Working as part of the Wellbeing Exeter & Live and Move teams

If you’re empathetic, a great listener, and motivated to help communities build healthier, more active lives — we’d love to hear from you.

🗓 Deadline: Wednesday 28 January 2026
🗣 Interviews: w/c 2 February 2026

What a lovely sunny, crisp morning to be out and about on the fortnightly health walk around St.Thomas.

A small group of us met at St Thomas Medical Group practice on Cowick Street and walked a short loop around Cowick Barton Fields and surrounding areas. It was great to meet new people, have a chat and explore St.Thomas on foot.

Come along for friendly walks and chats every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, meeting at St.Thomas Medical Practice at 10:30am.

Love climbing and great conversations? We’re looking for friendly, kind-hearted volunteers to support our BeWell Bouldering Group 🧗💙

Every Friday (from 16th January), 11am–1pm, at The Climbing Hangar Exeter, we bring people together to climb, chat, and boost wellbeing, on and off the wall.

You don’t need to be a climbing pro. What really matters is empathy, encouragement, and a welcoming smile 😊

As a volunteer, you’ll:
✨ Offer a listening ear and peer support
✨ Help create a safe, inclusive space
✨ Join in with the climbs and the fun

Why volunteer? Because your presence could help someone feel stronger, more confident, and less alone. Interested? Email bewell@steponecharity.co.uk

For Women across Exeter! 👇

City Sisters is a brand-new, physical activity programme designed to inspire women in Exeter.
We want to engage and energise participants across the city by offering a varied programme of activities for women of all ages, fitness levels, cultures, and abilities.

We’ve linked with community groups, individuals, organisations and local facilities that showcase the best of what’s available.

We’re seeking allies and ambassadors to support participants and highlight the opportunities that exist so that more women feel able to be physically active and to feel great.

We lift the curfew, tackle inequalities, showcase community spirit, lead by example, listen with intent, break down barriers and bridge the gap where opportunities are lacking.

This pilot program is not just designed to deliver activities but to listen and learn specifically what women want in the city, in their community and on their doorstep.

We have 200 places available on this pilot programme of activities and want to engage women who really need support and inspiration to get moving.

If you’re interested in the programme, please get in touch by completing this google form https://forms.gle/GLo5yJJ837UK5T6q9 or emailing hello@liveandmove.co.uk.

You’ll then receive the full schedule of activities that you can book onto and take part in throughout January and February.

We’re not hanging around.
We’re not standing on the sidelines.
We’re not waiting for permission.

Why don’t you join us?
