Farewell and Congratulations to Amma! 👋

On Friday we said goodbye to our Care Assistant, Amma, who has been an incredible part of our Children and Young Adults service for over four years. During her time with us, Amma not only delivered outstanding support but also achieved a major milestone - completing a three-year university course to qualify as a nurse.

Amma is now moving on to an exciting new role at Forth Valley Hospital in the Acute Assessment Unit, starting next week. While we’re thrilled for her next chapter, will miss her warmth, dedication, and professionalism. Our service user, Declan, was especially sad to see her go, which is a testament to the positive impact she’s had on those she has cared for.

Thank you, Amma, for everything you’ve contributed. We will miss you and wish you all the success in your new venture! 💜

👏 Teamwork in Action 👏

A big thank you to our Care Assistants, Stephanie and Kimberly for their incredible support during a challenging week in the office.

With sickness and annual leave leaving the service short-staffed, both stepped up to help cover shifts and keep things running smoothly. Kimberly was quick to offer extra help, and Stephanie even came into the office for a couple of days to assist with answering phones - despite not having system access, she handled it all brilliantly.

Your teamwork, understanding, and willingness to go the extra mile made a real difference. We appreciate you both! 💜 🙌

Congratulations to our Care Assistants, Holli and Alanna, for going above and beyond! 🌼

Both colleagues were recognised for showing outstanding competence, one of our core values at Ailsa Care. They welcomed new service users with genuine care, quickly understanding their needs and helping them settle into their routines with confidence and kindness.

Their approach also beautifully reflected compassion (another of our core values) making a real difference in the lives of those they support. Well done, Alanna and Holli! 💜👏

We’re also thrilled to congratulate Muskaanpreet and his partner Lucy on the arrival of their baby boy on Thursday 16th October! It was such a joy to meet the little one when they visited - and thank you for the lovely box of chocolates too! 🍫👶💙

🕰️ Reminder for Carers: Clocks Go Back This Weekend! 🕰️

Just a gentle nudge that the clocks go back one hour at 2am on Sunday, 26 October 2025. That means an extra hour in bed - or an extra hour to support those you care for 💜

If you're supporting someone who may be confused by the change, especially those living with dementia or memory challenges, a quick chat or visual reminder can make all the difference.

✅ Check any scheduled medications or appointments
✅ Adjust clocks and devices ahead of time
✅ Be mindful of changes in routine or sleep patterns

Misconceptions of home care 🤔

"Home care is only for older people." 💭

❌ Wrong! Home care support is for all ages, from younger people with disabilities to those recovering after surgery. Our Children and Young Adults service caters to a wide range of needs to allow individuals to build independence, gain confidence, and live life to the fullest.

Kyle’s story proves it. Since joining us in 2020, our service user, Kyle, has shown incredible resilience and determination. Living with cerebral palsy hasn’t stopped him from achieving amazing things - completing college courses, volunteering at his local Asda, and even taking on new challenges like gym sessions and music therapy.

With the right support, Kyle has built confidence, independence, and a strong sense of community. From learning to cook his own meals to helping others through volunteering, his journey is a powerful reminder that care is about empowerment, not limitation.

Redefining care means recognising it’s for everyone.
