King!
Sometimes things are just so right in life. Kickin’ back with little else to do, I switched on the box and danced through the channels nonchalantly. Till something caught my eye and I chilled as I listened intently to that amazing artist, Carol King.
Still performing today with a style that truly is timeless as she smiled, threw back her hair, sung and played those tunes that somehow felt as if I just heard them for the first time. Carol had the gift of absolute pitch amazingly at 4 years old. My friend, musical Milada, will get that better than me! And could not get enough of hittin’ those keys right along to all and any tune she heard on the radio until she got it. Performed from the late fifties right through till today. Friends with entertainers such as Paul Simon and Neil Sadaka while all still learning their trade. You are talking the building blocks of popular music here. But never throwaways. Pure enjoyment with many styles to her credit covering writing that encompasses so many different artists so glad to have performed her work.
Dharma is a beautiful Sanskrit word that to me means our reason for being. Watching another amazing woman, Swami, performing at the Arthur Findlay College, dancing and singing in trance state, same as Carol, all present looking on in awe, I saw clairvoyantly a light coming down from Heaven and another rising up from the Earth. When meeting in the middle I heard clairaudiently, ‘This is your reason for being. To bring the two worlds together. To heal and to reveal.’ A very moving moment, dear reader. That is why, when your reason becomes clear and your path is laid before you life becomes a pure joy. I mention this as I see the same in Carol. Her reason found at such a wonderful age and encouraged by her loving parents. Once her truth was found, she went on, with practise and hard work, to sharpen her talents ensuring so much timeless pleasure is given to millions upon millions. Helping others to find solace in their lives and also helping others on their way and ensuring having found true meaning in her life, happiness in her own.
For we all have a part to play in the Tapestry of life, our own thread we weave upon the Universe. And when we find it, true happiness ensues in our life and a feeling of bliss as we find our zone, our place, where we find contentment.
So thank you Carol. Tonight You’re Mine, Completely! And myself and so, so many more listeners and artists too who feel your presence with your words, harmonies, playing and melodies. All the way through those amazing 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and up right up till today and beyond. And yes, We Will Still Love You Tomorrow! You have Soul and dared lay it down for us to feel.
Be brave and look inside yourself, for your light is your destiny. Love Always, Mark McDonagh!
