💤 Winding Down: My Evening Rituals

Sleep is so important to me — I know I don’t function at my best without it. Getting to sleep is half the battle, so I practice gentle evening routines to signal to my body that it’s time to let go of the day and prepare for rest.

🌙 I dim the lights to a low, warm glow, creating a calm atmosphere
🌖 In the colder months, I enjoy a cup of herbal tea, letting the warmth soothe my body and senses
🌕 I put my phone on sleep mode — you’ll rarely see me responding after 9 pm
✨ And I always spend some quiet time reading a book before bed to relax my mind.

These simple, mindful practices help me transition from the busyness of the day into a calm, restful state.

💭 How do you signal your body that it’s time to rest?

01/03/2026

Which area of your body holds tension most? 🤍

For so many people, it’s right here — between the shoulder blades. The rhomboids quietly gripping from long hours at a desk, driving, or simply carrying the weight of the day.

Slow, steady work into this space can bring that “I didn’t realise I needed that” kind of relief — an exhale you didn’t know you were holding.

I’m curious where your body’s been carrying lately.

Neck?
Shoulders?
Lower back?
Jaw?

Did you know you can combine yoga + massage in one session?

Move.
Breathe.
Release.
Rest.

Yoga prepares the body.
Massage melts the tension.
Rest helps it stick.

If you’ve ever wished your massage lasted longer — or your yoga ended with deeper release — this is for you.

Group Class Update 🧘‍♀️

From March, my group timetable is expanding slightly.

Alongside my regular classes, I’ll be teaching two additional sessions for the duration of Alexandra’s maternity leave as she welcomes her little one ☺️

If you’ve been thinking about joining a class, this is a lovely time to come along. A few more opportunities each week to move, breathe, and properly reset.

Safety starts the moment you walk in the door.

When you arrive, I greet you, show you where to put your things, and let you settle. You’ll know exactly what’s happening and what comes next.

Because every nervous system is always scanning for cues —
Is this safe?
What’s expected of me?
What happens next?

When those answers are already clear, your body doesn’t need to stay alert.

Whether you’re here for massage or yoga, I create a calm, predictable arrival so your nervous system can soften before we even begin.

My yoga journey wasn’t love at first practice—in fact, I hated it!

It wasn’t until years later that I decided to give it another try, this time with someone I knew and trusted.

Since then, my practice has evolved into a space where I can connect with myself, be mindful, and truly root into the present moment.

Why do you practice yoga? 🧘‍♀️

I’d love to hear your “why” in the comments👇

✨ Create a calm corner at home ✨

A small space, just for you — a place to slow down, breathe, and let your nervous system rest. Having a corner like this at home can help you reset, feel grounded, and show up calmer in the rest of your day.

Start with three simple steps:
1️⃣ Making space — clear the clutter and distractions. This gives your mind and body room to relax instead of constantly scanning for tasks.
2️⃣ Inviting comfort — add cozy textures, warm light, and soothing elements. Comfort signals safety to your nervous system and helps your body fully let go.
3️⃣ Anchoring in calm — decide what this space is for, and return often. When you give it purpose, your body learns that this corner is your cue to slow down.

Even 5 minutes here can make a big difference. Your home can be a sanctuary — one corner at a time. 🤍

Massage isn’t always about “switching off.”
For many people, touch can bring up a range of sensations, emotions, or questions — and that’s okay.

This is why I work with a trauma-informed, trauma-sensitive approach, rooted in safety, consent, choice, and respect for the nervous system. Sessions begin by creating a calm, grounded space and taking time to talk together about what feels supportive, helping to build a sense of predictability and ease. From there, each session is shaped by your individual needs in the moment — tuning in to both verbal and non-verbal cues, and working slowly and fluidly rather than using abrupt or forceful techniques.

Your body sets the pace here.
You are always welcome exactly as you are 🤍

There’s a quiet assumption in bodywork that more is better — deeper pressure, faster progress, stronger techniques.

But I don't agree.

In my experience, the nervous system softens when it feels met, not pushed. When touch is steady rather than abrupt. When the body isn’t asked to keep up.

That belief shapes how I work. I value slowness, continuity, and pacing that allows the body to stay oriented and present — not because it’s gentler, but because it’s often more effective.

For some people, this kind of approach is the difference between bracing through a session and actually being able to receive it.

Massage doesn’t need to demand anything from you.
It can meet you where you are.

🌿 Sustainability matters to me, and I try to practice it thoughtfully, one small choice at a time.

From closed loop refill systems and eco-friendly laundry detergent to reusable linens and paper-free intake forms, these small choices help me bring intention and care into my massage and yoga practice.

It’s not always perfect, but I make thoughtful, gentle decisions wherever possible.
