Calling all nurses, teachers, hairstylists, chefs and tradies in Frome! As a Sports Massage Therapist, these are my top 3 non-negotiable rules to protect your lower limb health and help prevent burnout.
You’re spending 8, 10 — even 12 hours a day on your feet. It’s no surprise that by the time you get home your legs and feet feel achy, heavy, and start throbbing. That isn’t “just fatigue” — and it isn’t something to ignore.
Here’s your “on-your-feet" support guide

1️⃣ Don’t wait for pain to act
Lower-limb pain rarely comes out of nowhere. It usually builds gradually as your body adapts to long hours of standing and walking. Addressing movement issues early is key.
2️⃣ Footwear and foot posture matter
What you stand and walk in — and how your feet naturally load — affects everything above them. Changes at foot level can influence stress through the ankles, knees and hips.
3️⃣ Recovery is part of the job
Being on your feet all day is physical work. Mobility, rest and hands-on treatment aren’t extras — they’re how you stay functional long-term.
Looking after your lower limbs isn’t optional. It’s how you keep doing the job without breaking down.
