A lot of what you’re told about VBAC sounds really reassuring…
but it actually just sets you up to walk in, smile politely, and hope for the best.
🚩 “I’m going to *try* for a VBAC”
If you’re “trying”, you’ve already got one foot out the door.
🚩 “I don’t want to think about things going wrong”
Cool… except complications like uterine rupture (very rare) will be brought up. So if you’ve avoided it? That conversation is going to hit you like a train.
🚩 “It will be safer for you to give birth on the delivery suite in the hospital”
…said like it’s the obvious, no-brainer option without mentioning that’s also the *exact* environment where things are far more likely to escalate into… you guessed it *another* c-section
🚩 “They’ll tell me if something’s wrong”
They will. Quickly. With words like “risk” and “we recommend” and a room suddenly looking at you waiting for an answer.
🚩 “My partner will advocate for me”
Love the enthusiasm but if they haven’t been properly prepped either…
they’re just standing there thinking “what the hell is happening” as well.
This is why so many VBAC women go in like:
“I just want it to be different this time”…and still come out feeling like
yep, same s**t, different day.
That’s exactly why VBAC With Control is launching in June.
Because winging it…is not a strategy.
Doors open in June for the first round
