🚲💛 A huge thank you to Glasgow City Council and Glasgow Life 💛🚲

Thanks to the Wheels in Motion Fund, delivered by Glasgow City Council and Glasgow Life, we’ve been able to deliver adapted bike sessions and lessons at Victoria Park, creating more opportunities for people to access cycling in a way that works for them.

This funding has helped us to:
✨ Remove barriers to participation
✨ Provide access to the right adapted bikes and supportive sessions
✨ Support inclusive, confidence-building cycling experiences
✨ Deliver meaningful, community-led activity in a local green space

💬 “I have Multiple Sclerosis and my poor mobility and balance mean I am no longer able to ride a bike, which I used to really enjoy.”

💬 “I had difficulty getting on a couple of them, but then tried a recumbent trike and off I went cycling round Victoria Park, beaming like an idiot! I cycled for nearly half an hour and was exhausted but exhilarated. I now go cycling every week and love it!”

Jan’s experience shows exactly why this kind of funding matters. With the right equipment, encouragement and environment, cycling becomes possible again not just once, but as a regular, joyful part of life 💛

We’re incredibly grateful for the continued investment in inclusive cycling, active travel and community wellbeing.

🚴‍♀️✨ January Ride Round-Up ✨🚴‍♂️

January threw a bit of everything at us - darker days, chilly mornings, the odd downpour… and even some snow ❄️🌧️
But that didn’t stop our community.

Despite the changing weather, we had an amazing turnout across our rides, with people showing up, supporting each other, and proving once again that cycling is about more than just the sunshine, it’s about connection, confidence, and consistency.

Seeing so many riders out on the paths in the heart of winter reminds us why inclusive, welcoming cycling spaces matter all year round 💛

Thank you to everyone who wrapped up warm, turned the pedals, and made January such a strong start to the year.

📸 Here are some moments from our January rides rain, snow, smiles and all.

Andy’s story is a reminder that fundraising doesn’t have to be loud or overwhelming.

It can be quiet.
It can be simple.
It can start with what you already do every day.

Over the past year, Andy has raised more than £2,000 for inclusive cycling, not through big events, but through small, consistent actions.

If this inspired you and you’d like to get involved, we’d love to help you find a way that works for you 💛

🚨 Important Notice: Winter Weather & Activity Cancellations 🚨

As the Scottish winter settles in, weather warnings are becoming more frequent. To keep our participants, volunteers, and staff safe, please keep the following in mind:

🚴‍♀️ If a weather warning is issued, rides or lessons may be cancelled. We aim to notify all participants by 9:30am on the day.

📞 If you're unsure whether your session is going ahead, get in touch with us directly.

☕ If it’s safe to travel, we might suggest alternative activities or a coffee social instead - we’ll keep you informed!

📅 Please ensure you're booked in advance for all rides and lessons - this helps us contact everyone quickly with any updates.

💛 At Sunny Cycles, your safety is our top priority. Thanks for your understanding and continued support - let’s keep riding safely through every season! 🌧️❄️☀️

🚴‍♀️💛 Thank You, Volant Trust! 💛🚴‍♀️

We’re incredibly grateful to the Volant Trust for supporting our Friday Women’s Rides.

The rides offer women-only cycling sessions designed to help participants build confidence, reconnect with bikes, and enjoy the freedom of cycling, many for the first time in years.

This dedicated programme is gentle-paced and fully supported by our friendly team, creating a relaxed and encouraging space where women of all backgrounds and abilities can feel safe and empowered on two wheels.

From quiet laps around the park, discovering new routes around Glasgow to learning gears and signalling, the impact has been real with many participants noticing improved mental health, physical wellbeing, and a renewed sense of independence.

🌟 With thanks to the Volant Trust, more women are finding their way back to bikes and to themselves.
