The Wee Retreat
True story — when I first began practicing yoga over 20 years ago, many teachers would offer the option to leave before the final relaxation. And honestly… 9 times out of 10, I took it.
Sometimes it was practical — I couldn’t fully relax in a room full of people known I had things to do, or I had to collect my daughter.
But if I’m being completely truthful, a part of me didn’t feel worthy of that rest. Like others deserved it more than I did or something silly like that!
No judgment here — doing something is always better than doing nothing. We all start where we are, with what we have.
Just promise yourself this: start. Because you are worth it… and it is worth the wait.I PROMISE — when you get there 💫
Savasana, in my opinion (right after Pranayama), is one of the most powerful aspects of a Yin Yoga practice, any yoga practice. It’s not “just lying down.”It’s where the body absorbs the deep fascia-releasing work, the nervous system settles even more, and true integration happens.
Lying on the back, legs relaxed, arms open, palms facing up, eyes gently closed — often for 10 minutes or more — Savasana allows for:
✨ physical stillness
✨ mental quiet
✨ deep nervous system restoration
This is where the practice truly lands.
Some of the benefits of Savasana include:• Activates the parasympathetic (rest & digest) nervous system• Reduces stress, anxiety, and mental fatigue• Improves sleep quality• Supports emotional regulation and inner balance• Allows the body to fully integrate the practice.
