There’s something about this pose that feels like home even doing Yoga 🤍.
The strength, the greetings, the love, the laughter over this pass month or so… (I was even made a fresh lunch and dinner fit for a queen) 🙏 Everything, I’ve been welcomed within this community is reflected here.
Warrior II — a stance of steady gaze, strong foundation, and calm intention. Not about fighting, but about standing firm, grounded, and present.
A quiet kind of power.
A shared energy.
A reminder that strength can be soft, and focus can feel like belonging.
Grateful for this space, these people, and everything this journey continues to teach me.

📖 I’m lead to believe the Story Behind It:
The pose is inspired by Virabhadra, a warrior created by Shiva. According to legend, Virabhadra was sent to restore justice after a great betrayal. Warrior II represents the moment he locks his gaze on his target with calm determination.
💭 Symbolic Meaning / “Quote-like” Interpretation
While there isn’t one official quote, teachers often describe Warrior II with themes like:
* “Steady gaze, strong stance, calm mind.”
* “Stand firm in your purpose and move forward with clarity.”
* “Power with control, strength with awareness.”
🧠 What It Represents in Practice
* Focus – your eyes look forward over your hand
* Strength – legs grounded and stable
* Calm intensity – power without aggression
In short, Warrior II is less about fighting and more about balanced strength and unwavering focus.

I introduced newest team member only TWO weeks ago… and WOW 👏

At first she was a little shy, just finding her feet and settling into her new role (totally normal, we’ve all been there 😅)… but fast forward to now — she’s absolutely BLOOMING 🌿✨

Honestly, she’s slotted in like she’s been here forever and is making the whole space feel extra special for you all of course 💚

Although… I might need to have a quiet word and ask her to tone it down a bit… she’s definitely starting to take the shine away from me 😂🙏🫶. I’m buzzing to be back after a wee break 🫶🙏💫💕

It’s been so lovely seeing a mix of new, returning, and familiar faces in class over the past few weeks — I’m honestly so grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for being part of such a supportive and positive community, it really means so much 🤍
YIN Classes have been full since the turn of the year, and I can’t thank you enough for the continued support — it truly means the world. Because of this, I’ve added an extra class on Thursdays at 5:45 to give more of you the chance to join.

Rise to Root 🌿 — Yang to Yin is a seasonal Spring practice. We begin with an energising Yang flow to awaken circulation, build gentle heat and clear stagnation. The class then transitions into longer-held Yin postures to encourage deep release, regulate the nervous system and restore balance. Balasana – or Child’s Pose – is one of the most comforting and nourishing poses in yoga. It gently invites the body to soften and the mind to slow down.

Especially as we move into the Spring season, it’s a beautiful posture for turning inward, resetting, and creating space for new energy. ✨
