Colette Robinson Civil Funeral Celebrant

Colette Robinson Civil Funeral Celebrant Creating beautiful and unique funeral ceremonies for your loved ones.

Unfortunately I have been on the receiving end of a completely creepy phonecall this evening.
It isn't just me, this person has been making calls to Celebrants across the country. It can be unnerving and disturbing and I'll admit that it shook me for a moment. So this is just a little heads up to my fellow Celebrants. Calls are coming in at around 9-10pm from an unknown number. For the moment, if you have call screening available on your phone it may be a good option to use it.
There is a post in the Celebrants Collective about reporting to police.
Be vigilant and look out for eachother xx C x

Once again Nicola has gone above and beyond x Honestly , this lady is amazing!! So proud to have her as not only a fellow Celebrant but as a friend 🩷

Today we remembered D who was 100 years young. He loved gardening, roping in his family and carers to help when he was less able.
Music was also a hobby in its own right. D was an early adopter of Stereo; always fiddling with amplifiers and other bits of Hi-Fi to enhance the sound. Most of his family felt the sound was absolutely fine but not D - he was always looking for perfection.

These are the comments that mean the world but that shouldn't ever have to be said.
I am, always have been and always will be a funeral celebrant for everyone.
It saddened me that I have to reiterate that.
To the lovely G's family, your words mean the world xx C

Little things can have such a huge impact. Yesterday at the wedding of the wonderful Karen and Tom, I arrived at my table to find a candle that my mum made before she died. The love and thoughtfulness that went into that gesture was completely overwhelming and greatly appreciated 🩷
One simple act of kindness that warmed my heart and made my day!
Love you, my wee lovey dovey Acts of Dove 🩷

Just a little heads up that I will be totally unavailable tomorrow. I will get back to all calls and messages on Tuesday. It's not often I take a full day off but I will be watching one of the most amazing, beautiful human beings I know, say " I do".
After meeting at the Scottish funeral awards years ago, Karen has become one of the most cherished people in my life. She has been constant with her support and love when I needed it most and I'm so proud to call her my friend.

For me, like for so many of you, today will be quite a difficult one. I have my lovely boys and my fabulous daughter in law but it will be my 19th mother's day without Caitlin and my 1st without my amazing mum.
Huge thanks to everyone who has sent really kind messages and flowers. Your kindness is truly appreciated x
Be kind to yourself today and reach out if you need support.

My heart hurts watching the live updates on the fire that has engulfed the buildings around Glasgow Central. Central has been the beginning and end of so many meaningful journeys for me. Weddings, birthdays, christenings and funerals, visits to hospital bedsides and travels to see old friends.
When the flames are out there will still be so many people and businesses affected. Things will be different and difficult in town, traffic busier, shops closed and businesses owners on edge because they're worried. This is a good time to remember to be kind, have a little patience and support each other. It's what Glasgow is good at, what it's known for and just one of the reasons I'm proud to have called it home for the last 25 years.

08/03/2026

Absolutely awful to see the pictures of the fire Glasgow City Centre just now. Stay safe if you are in the area.
I know it can be tempting to film things as they are happening but remember that our brave, fantastic fire brigade and emergency services need to be able to keep the public and themselves safe.
