Driving Smart Building Innovation: ENSNARE Project Results

The EU-funded ENSNARE project ended in September, delivering groundbreaking solutions for deep renovation and operational decarbonisation. At its core was a physics-based digital twin integrated with real-time data and optimisation workflows developed by IES.

In our latest blog, Giulia Barbano shares how a residential building in Tartu, Estonia became the testbed for active energy control using predictive modelling, IoT sensors, and human-in-the-loop automation. The system transformed traditional BMS from reactive to proactive, enabling day-ahead optimisation of heating strategies. 🏢
