Great visual here of the horses cervical spine. It is a complex area with many sensitive neuromuscular components. Limitations within these joints and surrounding soft tissues impact on the horses ability to perform as well as causing pain, discomfort and lameness. Is your horse struggling to laterally flex one way compared to the other? Or have you seen a generalised decline in performance? Maybe your horse is struggling to relax and take the contact forwards?

Cervical vertebrae/facet joint mobilisations and surrounding soft tissue release are common methods used within my treatments.

I have limited availability left for January and the diary is filling up for February.

A huge thank you to these ladies!🙌🏼

Hopefully a huge (and much needed!) step for our profession in avoiding confusion amongst vets and animal owners alike who will have confidence in knowing they are referring to and having their beloved animals treated by a fully qualified, regulated professional!

ACPAT with the support of the (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy) CSP is advocating for:

- The basic level for those using the term Veterinary Physiotherapy/Physiotherapist be level 6.

- The term Allied Health Professional to be used instead of paraprofessional.

- For ACPAT members to retain their scope of practice, clinical governance and standards.

- Autonomy within our scope of practice and clinic work mirroring the process we have within the human sector.

- The RCVS/ the veterinary industry to recognize that Physiotherapy is a profession developed over 100 years and is not a subject/group of techniques that can be taught in a few hours of CPD.
