Sunshine, movement and smiles all round at our Zumba session 💃☀️

The energy in the room was amazing and it’s such a great way for our ladies to get active, build confidence and have fun together.

This will now be running every other week, and over the summer months we’ll be taking it outdoors to Walpole Park near the playground — making the most of the fresh air and longer days 🌿

Huge thank you to Esther Farley , our amazing Zumba instructor for bringing the energy and good vibes every session 💃✨

If you’d like to join us, keep an eye on our page for upcoming dates 💛

There’s something powerful about looking after your body as well as your mind in recovery 🤍

At Steps Within, we make this part of everyday life — all of our residents are provided with gym memberships, including access to classes, swimming, sauna and steam.

It’s not just about fitness, it’s about routine, confidence, and feeling good again from the inside out ✨

A big thank you to Jude from Citizens Advice Bureau for delivering such a valuable money management workshop last week 🙌
The session was full of practical tips, support, and honest conversations – helping our ladies feel more confident and in control of their finances 💛
Jude has also kindly offered 1-1 sessions for our residents, giving them the opportunity to look at their individual circumstances and receive tailored support.

Recovery is also about connection 💛
This weekend, one of our residents brought the houses together for a girls’ night filled with snacks, laughter, and creativity.
Drawing names out of a hat and sketching each other’s portraits turned into such a special way to bond and build confidence ✨

A moment to pause, breathe, and reset 🤍

Breathwork is a powerful tool in recovery—helping to calm the mind, regulate emotions, and build resilience without turning to old coping mechanisms.

Relapse can carry so much shame, but it doesn’t erase the progress someone has made.

Recovery is rarely a straight line. Sometimes people stumble, sometimes they lose their way for a while, but what truly matters is the courage to come back.

At Steps Within, we believe relapse is not failure. Often it’s a sign that someone needs more support, understanding, and the right environment to get back on track.

That’s why we now offer transitional housing for women who may have experienced a relapse. This space allows women to stay connected to support while rebuilding stability and working towards returning to our abstinent recovery housing.

No one should feel that one setback means the door is closed.

At Steps Within, the door is always open, and recovery is always possible.

If you or someone you love needs support, please reach out.

You are not alone.
You are not beyond help.
And you are always welcome back. 💛

Today on International Women’s Day we celebrate the strength, courage and resilience of the incredible women who have been part of our supported housing — past and present.

Every woman who has walked through our doors has brought her own story, challenges and victories. Watching women rebuild their lives, support one another, and grow in confidence and recovery is something we feel honoured to witness every day.

To the women who are with us now, and to those who have moved forward into new chapters — we see you, we are proud of you, and you will always be part of the Steps Within family.

Recovery is possible. Change is possible. And women supporting women is a powerful thing.

Happy International Women’s Day 💜
