“That was so stupid! How could you do that? What were you thinking of?”
No answer, just an image of feeling defeated. Ashamed for messing up. And despite what it might allude to, it is not a conversation between two people, but rather between you and … you. A snippet of self-talk when something didn’t turn out as well as you wanted it to. Or maybe when your reaction was one you wish you could take back.

If you ever found yourself in this scenario, the post below explores it further.

Words. Tiny bundles of letters and sounds. Tools of growth and empowerment. Or instruments of disempowerment and fragmentation.

One of the main reasons I write now about words is because they are a tool you can use on your own. You can improve the quality of your own life and that of others through the mindful use of words. Why? Because words can also be used to instill hope, foster self-compassion and empower decision making.

Words. Tiny bundles of letters and sounds. Tools of growth and empowerment. Or instruments of disempowerment and fragmentation. Words have an incredible power to shape our thoughts, emotions, and even our actions. I am a psychotherapist and have witnessed firsthand language's transformative power. W...

❓Uncertainty is everywhere. As working professionals, we face it daily when we make decisions. As human beings, we face it every second of our lives. Because to be human is to live under its shadow.

🔖When we are uncertain, it is hard to predict or control our surroundings. This makes us feel vulnerable, worried, and uneasy.

🤔What is it about uncertainty that is so fear-inducing? I explore this and three tools we can use to change our response to uncertainty in my new blog post. Check it out below 👇

Uncertainty is everywhere. As working professionals, we face it daily when we make decisions. As human beings, we face it every second of our lives. Because to be human is to live under its shadow. Today, the perceived level of uncertainty is compounded by technological innovations and disruptions,....

👉How easy do you find change?

🧐 What makes it hard?

"I want to live a healthier lifestyle. I want to be more productive. I want to have better relationships. At least once a year, I tackle one or more of the above ideas. I start with enthusiasm and do a lot of research. I dig deep. Look at the newest research. Play with ideas and plans. And I start big. And I mean BIG. Every time is an entire overhaul of habits. The trick is that I know I can implement and stick to those changes. For a few days at least.

I am smiling as I recall the numerous attempts that started just like that. My smile fades as I also remember how many times I failed at implementing those changes long term. For a very long time, I used my attempts at habit-changing as proof that my willpower was terrible. Shame-worthy. Non-existent. I have learnt that change is more subtle and multifaceted and requires more than just willpower."
