🌑 Reed Samhain New Moon – Thursday 20th November (Micro Moon)

Today brings a gentle Micro New Moon, arriving 20 days into the Samhain season — the natural descent into stillness, rest and reflection. At this time of year, the landscape quietens, wildlife conserves energy, and the trees take their final steps towards winter dormancy.

The Reed Moon has long been associated with thresholds and transitions. Just as reed beds bend and sway at the meeting place of land and water, this part of the cycle invites us to spend time at the quieter edges of our own lives: noticing, grounding and listening.

Some lovely ways to honour this seasonal shift:
🌿 Take a mindful walk and notice what the land is shedding
🌾 Reflect on one thing you’re ready to release
🍃 Set a small intention that supports your wellbeing through winter
🌱 Sit with a tree or hedgerow and observe what’s changing

For those who enjoy bringing seasonal awareness into their month, Joanna has written a Reed Samhain New Moon blog over on her Harmony Healing site — a warm blend of nature wisdom, lunar guidance and simple reflective practices.

Her next Full Moon Guided Meditation will be on Thursday 4th December, offering a gentle monthly pause to support natural rhythm and emotional balance.

The Leonid Meteor Shower is peaking overnight on 16th–18th November, bringing some of the fastest and brightest shooting stars of the year. Even if you only spot one or two, taking a moment to pause beneath the night sky can be deeply calming and restorative.
At Harmony in Nature we often talk about how wellbeing isn’t limited to forests and green spaces — it also includes the wider natural cycles of the Earth and sky. Meteor showers are wonderful reminders of perspective, stillness and the beauty of looking up.
Jo has written a gentle, informative blog on the Leonids, including:
🌠 What the Leonids are
🌠 When and how to view them
🌠 Why November skies can feel so magical
🌠 How celestial events support seasonal connection
It’s perfect for anyone who enjoys simple, accessible nature-based moments of awe.

If you do head out to watch, wrap up warm and give your eyes a little time to adjust.
Wishing you clear skies ✨

🕊️ Armistice Day • 11th November
Each year, we pause in stillness to remember those who gave their lives in the hope of a more peaceful world. 🌹
The red poppy — rising each spring from once-barren battlefields — reminds us that even after devastation, life finds its way back to the Earth. 🌾
It symbolises not only remembrance and sacrifice, but also renewal, resilience, and nature’s power to heal.
As we honour the fallen, we might also reflect on how all life returns to the embrace of nature — transformed, yet never truly gone. 🌍
In every seed that germinates and every breeze that stirs the leaves, we feel the quiet continuation of life’s great cycle.
At 11:11, pause outdoors if you can. Breathe with the rhythm of the living world and allow a moment of gratitude for peace — in remembrance, in unity, and in hope. 🌿

🌿 Forest Bathing: Step Into Serenity 🌿
Sunday 16 November | 11 am – 2 pm | Harry Edwards Foundation, Surrey Hills

Join Joanna Bristow-Watkins and Katie Robinson for a three-hour guided Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku) session in the tranquil woodlands of the Harry Edwards Foundation near Shere.

Slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the natural world through mindful sensory invitations, quiet pauses, and a gentle “treelaxation” meditation—closing with a soothing woodland tea.

🍃 A common misconception is that Forest Bathing involves swimming or entering water. In fact, “bathing” refers to immersing your senses in the forest atmosphere—listening, noticing, breathing, and simply being present.

💚 Reconnect • Restore • Rebalance
🕊 £39.77 | Spaces limited – early booking recommended

Reed Full Moon Supermoon – Nature’s Night of Fire & Light 🔥

Wednesday 5 November, 13:19 (GMT)

Tonight’s Full Moon brings the second of three consecutive Supermoons, glowing larger and brighter as it reaches its closest point to Earth. 🌾

This month’s Reed Moon, in the Celtic tradition, falls on Guy Fawkes Night, when bonfires and fireworks light the November sky.

It’s a beautiful opportunity to step outside and reconnect with nature’s rhythm:

🌙 Notice how the moonlight transforms familiar places.

🔥 Feel the warmth of firelight against the cool night air.

🍂 Reflect on the year’s closing chapters and what you wish to release before winter.

Being aware of the lunar cycle can gently restore balance, presence and calm in our everyday lives.

✨ Jo will host an online Full Moon Guided Meditation (7.30–9.30 pm) themed around Samhain, the Celtic New Year, and the Fire Festival of transformation.

🍂✨ Welcoming Samonios – The Celtic Month of Seed Fall ✨🌿

As November begins, we step into Samonios, the first month of the Celtic Year.

Meaning “Seed Fall”, this ancient turning of the wheel invites us to slow down, release, and trust the quiet work of winter. 🌱

In the natural world, fallen seeds rest beneath the soil, awaiting the returning light. It’s a reminder that rest, too, is part of growth — and that what seems dormant is simply gathering strength for renewal. 🌾

🍃 It’s also World Vegan Day – a celebration of compassionate, sustainable living that honours our connection with all life forms on Earth. 🌍💚

As the nights lengthen, take time to notice nature’s stillness, breathe with the trees, and feel the rhythm of the season. 🌲✨

🌑✨ Samhain – the Celtic New Year & Nature’s Turning ✨🌑

31st October marks Samhain, a Gaelic festival meaning “summer’s end”. This ancient celebration signified the close of harvest, the start of winter, and a time when the veil between worlds was considered thin.

Beyond modern Halloween traditions, Samhain was about honouring ancestors, embracing change, and finding balance within nature’s cycles. 🍂

Joanna Bristow-Watkins has explored Samhain’s deeper symbolism in her latest Harmony Healing Blog, weaving together Celtic wisdom, ancestral connection, and reflections that will be included in her Full Moon Meditation on 5th November. 🌕

⏰ The clocks go back this weekend!

On the night of Saturday 25th October → Sunday 26th October, the UK moves from British Summer Time (BST) back to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

This subtle shift gifts us an extra hour’s rest 😴 and reconnects us with the ancient rhythms of light and dark 🌌. GMT, anchored at Greenwich’s Prime Meridian, is still the world’s reference point for time.

Discover the fascinating history of GMT, plus ideas for seasonal balance and self-care in Jo's latest Harmony Healing Blog 👉 https://harmonyhealing.co.uk/blog
