πŸŒ‘ Rowan New Moon β€” Sunday 18 January

The Rowan New Moon marks the first true pause of the year β€” a moment for clarity, protection and gentle intention-setting.

A powerful time to work with New Moon abundance practices, create a Vision Board, or simply align with the natural rhythm of the lunar cycle.

Begin the year rooted, not rushed.

πŸŒ• Birch Wolf Full Moon Supermoon πŸŒ•

Today’s Full Moon is a Supermoon, making its presence and influence especially strong.
The Wolf Moon is traditionally associated with instinct and inner awareness, while the Birch Moon symbolises renewal, healing and the quiet return of light following the Winter Solstice.

This is a powerful point in the seasonal cycle β€” a time for reflection, release and gentle reconnection with nature’s winter wisdom.

πŸ•―οΈ There is an online Full Moon Guided Healing Meditation taking place this evening.

1st January β€” New Beginnings under the Winter Sky ✨
The first day of the year invites a gentle pause β€” a moment to step into new beginnings with awareness and intention 🌱

Meteor Shower β€” Nature’s Night-Time Spectacle β˜„οΈ

From 1st–5th January, the Quadrantids Meteor Shower lights up the winter skies, peaking in the early hours of Saturday 4th January.

Moments like this invite us to slow down, step outside where possible, and remember that nature is not only beneath our feet β€” but also above us.

Even when unseen, these celestial movements are part of the same natural cycles we honour through forest bathing, seasonal awareness and mindful connection.

🌿 Winter Solstice – Sunday 21st December 2025 🌿

Today we reach the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year and a profound seasonal threshold.

In nature, this is a time of deep rest. Trees stand bare yet alive with quiet potential, soil holds the promise of future growth, and the natural world reminds us that stillness is not stagnation β€” it is preparation.

The Solstice has long been honoured as a moment of renewal, when communities gathered outdoors to acknowledge the turning of the year and the gentle return of the light.

🌱 An invitation to slow down
🌱 An invitation to rest and restore
🌱 An invitation to reconnect with nature’s wisdom

At Harmony in Nature, we see time and again how simply being present in natural spaces helps restore balance, perspective, and wellbeing β€” especially at these key seasonal moments.

Birch New Moon | Saturday 20 December 2025 @ 01:44 (UK time) πŸŒ‘πŸŒΏ

This New Moon arrives in the heart of winter, just as the season turns towards the Winter Solstice and the slow return of the light.

In the Celtic tree tradition, Birch is the tree of renewal, purification and new beginnings. The Birch New Moon offers a gentle invitation to clear away what no longer feels aligned and to plant fresh intentions β€” not through effort, but through presence and simplicity.

New Moons are traditionally associated with beginnings and visioning. They offer a natural pause point to reflect, reset and reconnect with the rhythms of the natural world.

If you can, take a quiet moment outdoors β€” noticing the winter landscape and the subtle promise of what is yet to come.

🌠 Geminid Meteor Shower | 13–14 December

Meteor showers offer a gentle reminder that nature extends far beyond the forest and the field β€” right into the night sky above us.

The Geminids, peaking mid-December, are known for their brightness and consistency, but even without clear visibility they invite a sense of perspective, awe, and grounding within the greater natural cycles.

A lovely moment to slow down, step outdoors, and reconnect with the wider web of nature β€” land, sky, and beyond 🌿🌌

πŸŒ‘ Reed Samhain New Moon – Thursday 20th November (Micro Moon)

Today brings a gentle Micro New Moon, arriving 20 days into the Samhain season β€” the natural descent into stillness, rest and reflection. At this time of year, the landscape quietens, wildlife conserves energy, and the trees take their final steps towards winter dormancy.

The Reed Moon has long been associated with thresholds and transitions. Just as reed beds bend and sway at the meeting place of land and water, this part of the cycle invites us to spend time at the quieter edges of our own lives: noticing, grounding and listening.

Some lovely ways to honour this seasonal shift:
🌿 Take a mindful walk and notice what the land is shedding
🌾 Reflect on one thing you’re ready to release
πŸƒ Set a small intention that supports your wellbeing through winter
🌱 Sit with a tree or hedgerow and observe what’s changing

For those who enjoy bringing seasonal awareness into their month, Joanna has written a Reed Samhain New Moon blog over on her Harmony Healing site β€” a warm blend of nature wisdom, lunar guidance and simple reflective practices.

Her next Full Moon Guided Meditation will be on Thursday 4th December, offering a gentle monthly pause to support natural rhythm and emotional balance.

The Leonid Meteor Shower is peaking overnight on 16th–18th November, bringing some of the fastest and brightest shooting stars of the year. Even if you only spot one or two, taking a moment to pause beneath the night sky can be deeply calming and restorative.
At Harmony in Nature we often talk about how wellbeing isn’t limited to forests and green spaces β€” it also includes the wider natural cycles of the Earth and sky. Meteor showers are wonderful reminders of perspective, stillness and the beauty of looking up.
Jo has written a gentle, informative blog on the Leonids, including:
🌠 What the Leonids are
🌠 When and how to view them
🌠 Why November skies can feel so magical
🌠 How celestial events support seasonal connection
It’s perfect for anyone who enjoys simple, accessible nature-based moments of awe.

If you do head out to watch, wrap up warm and give your eyes a little time to adjust.
Wishing you clear skies ✨

πŸ•ŠοΈ Armistice Day β€’ 11th November
Each year, we pause in stillness to remember those who gave their lives in the hope of a more peaceful world. 🌹
The red poppy β€” rising each spring from once-barren battlefields β€” reminds us that even after devastation, life finds its way back to the Earth. 🌾
It symbolises not only remembrance and sacrifice, but also renewal, resilience, and nature’s power to heal.
As we honour the fallen, we might also reflect on how all life returns to the embrace of nature β€” transformed, yet never truly gone. 🌍
In every seed that germinates and every breeze that stirs the leaves, we feel the quiet continuation of life’s great cycle.
At 11:11, pause outdoors if you can. Breathe with the rhythm of the living world and allow a moment of gratitude for peace β€” in remembrance, in unity, and in hope. 🌿
