Tomorrow at 12 Noon UK time, we stand at the still point of the Ash New Moon.
Earlier in the day, the Sun and Moon meet in alignment, while elsewhere upon the Earth a luminous ring of fire forms during an annular eclipse. At the same time, the planets continue their gentle harmonic gathering along the ecliptic.
Moments like this invite coherence.

From 1st–5th January, the Quadrantids Meteor Shower lights up the winter skies, peaking in the early hours of Saturday 4th January.

Moments like this invite us to slow down, step outside where possible, and remember that nature is not only beneath our feet — but also above us.

Even when unseen, these celestial movements are part of the same natural cycles we honour through forest bathing, seasonal awareness and mindful connection.

This New Moon arrives in the heart of winter, just as the season turns towards the Winter Solstice and the slow return of the light.

In the Celtic tree tradition, Birch is the tree of renewal, purification and new beginnings. The Birch New Moon offers a gentle invitation to clear away what no longer feels aligned and to plant fresh intentions — not through effort, but through presence and simplicity.

New Moons are traditionally associated with beginnings and visioning. They offer a natural pause point to reflect, reset and reconnect with the rhythms of the natural world.
