🍀 Happy St Patrick’s Day! 🍀

March 17th is celebrated in honour of the passing of St. Patrick in 461AD.

Did you know St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was actually born in Britain? As a teenager he was brought to Ireland, where he later returned as a missionary and helped spread Christianity.

☘️ Fun facts:
• The shamrock was said to be used by St Patrick to explain the Holy Trinity.
• The first St Patrick’s Day parades were held in the United States.
• The original colour linked to St Patrick was blue, not green!

From all of us at Premier Care we wish everyone a lovely day filled with kindness, community, and a little luck. 💚

Great Women in History: Florence Nightingale we applaud you!

We cannot let this month pass as carers without recognising the amazing practices of FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE ‘The Lady with the Lamp.’

As a humble nurse during the Crimean War she introduced the following which are still in practice by Health Care & Social Care Professionals today:

✨She improved hospital conditions through hygiene, ventilation and better care.

✨Using statistics, she proved that good environments reduce illness and death.

✨Her focus on dignity, compassion and professional training still influences care today.

✨Her tireless work around hygiene and infection control saved thousands of soldiers lives during this war.

✨She helped lower death rates from over 40% to roughly 2% through sanitation, hygiene, and organisational improvements.

World Stroke Day

A stroke can happen to anyone, at anytime, anywhere. adults will have a stroke in their lifetime.
World Stroke Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of the serious nature and high rates of stroke.

The F.A.S.T. message is a simple acronym that can help you remember the most common signs of a stroke and to act quickly if you or someone else is experiencing them.
