The best time to do a fasting test is between 8 and 10am. Don't eat anything from 10pm the night before but do stay hydrated with water!

This week we performed a blood draw on a client. She had been wonderful about informing us on all the procedures needed before we arrived, however, the kit was missing the vacutainer!!! Luckily we carry spares so we were still able to perform the blood draw. Lesson here is, check the kit! Read the instructions but also check that all the components listed are in the kit! Lab kits are put together by humans... and human error can occur. We were just glad we could still help her!
