I thought I would re-introduce myself as I've had a flurry of new followers to my page.
I'm Jenni. Mum of one human teenager and one cocker spaniel. I am Halesowen born and bred and love the community I live in. Lover of eating out (or just eating in general 🤣), exploring new places, being outdoors and hiking. I can often be found stomping over and around the local hills.
When I left school I trained to be a Nursery nurse as caring and nurturing had been a huge part of my childhood and I knew I wanted to put those skills to good use.
I've always stayed true to those nursery nursing roots having worked in nurseries, schools and as a Nanny. I also have some customer service experience and put all of those skills to good use after Charlie was born, when I opened my first business, an educational toy shop.
Running that business gave me precious time with Charlie as he grew up. I literally ran that business for him and around him. As he grew up and started to lose a little interest in the toys I sold, I decided to close the business whilst I still loved it, rather than doing it because I had to.
5 weeks after closing the business, the pandemic hit! Looking after Charlie, my parents and my immediate community very much became a priority, as much for my own mental health as everyone elses. It was during this time that I realised that there was a HUGE gap in the care system. For people who just need a little extra 'something'. Whether that be a trip out somewhere, a little companionship or help with every day tasks.
People were being isolated by the pandemic, but the truth is, many were isolated before that too. Once Charlie was back at school (and I realised I didn't have a job! 🤣) I decided that the only way part of that gap could be bridged, was if I did it myself...and Jenni's help from the heart was born.
I do not do personal care or give medication, but what I do give is my time. Because, in my opinion, that is what a big care company, with lots of clients can't give.
Time is the most important thing you can give to someone. Time to chat. Time to find out about a person. Time to do things with them that they can't do on their own. Jigsaws, making a meal, going out for lunch, going for a walk or driving to somewhere that means a lot to that person.
When people ask me what I do within my business, it's hard to answer. Because every day is different. Every client is different. I do what is needed in that moment for that person.
I have chosen to specialise in looking after people with dementia, parkinsons, MS and brain injuries.
It is an honour and a privilege to be let into someone's family to look after a loved one, and I take what I do very seriously. I am fully insured and dbs checked.
So, that's me and why I started the business. I hope my passion for what I do shines through. Not only in this post, but with every single client I look after and in my every day life too.
If you are a client of mine, please know how precious you are to me. If you are a family member that trusts me with one of your loved one's, please also know how precious that is to me too.
Have a great weekend everyone x
