I launched my personal training business in 2005 and within 3 years with no business knowledge, I was fully booked, delivering 40 – 50 60 min PT sessions a week. This meant when you added in the running of the business, I was regularly working 60 – 70 hour weeks. In those early days, I could manage that because I lived at home, mum and dad did everything for me, and I had no children! I was able to spin all the plates I needed to. Fast forward to when I was married, Caitlyn and I had a home to look after, and we’d just had our first born Thomas I had a lot of plates to spin, and something had to give. What gave was me, I stopped looking after myself. I didn’t exercise, I ate a lot of junk food, lots of coffee and whiskey and by the time Thomas was 1 I’d piled on 3.5 stone, couldn’t get to the top of the stairs without being breathless and generally struggled to give my best to those I loved most. I needed to sort myself out, this is when I decided that diet and exercise alone wasn’t the answer. I needed to learn how to create real change in my life that was long lasting over those traditional peaks and troughs of ‘I’m on it’ or ‘I have no motivation to do it’. Fast forward to today, I work with people just like me …

Scales vs. Experiences… What Really Matters?

I had a conversation recently with a woman who said something I’ve heard hundreds of times:

“If I could just get to that number… maybe then I’d finally feel happy.”

The challenge when you pin your happiness to a number...

To wake up, step on the scales, and let that moment decide whether you feel proud…

…or disappointed.

Motivated…

…or ashamed.

Hopeful…

…or like you’ve failed again.

It’s exhausting.

And it steals joy from the parts of life that actually matter.

But then there are the women who shift their focus, not onto a number, but onto their experience of life.

They’re the ones who say things like:

“I want more energy to keep up with my kids.”

“I want to feel confident walking into a room again.”

“I want to wake up without feeling tired to my bones.”

“I want to enjoy my holidays instead of hiding in photos.”

“I want to feel like me again.”

And something incredible happens when the focus moves from shrinking your body to expanding your life:

Meet Cat... Business Owner, Wife, Mum… and Woman

Cat came to me wearing all the hats, running a business, raising a family, keeping everything going, yet quietly struggling behind the scenes.

During her initial Discovery Call, she shared some incredibly honest challenges:

“My weight is out of control. I’ve gone from a size 12 to a 16, nearly an 18… and I feel uncomfortable in my own skin.”

I’ll go first…

Recently, I had a 121 where someone asked me a really simple question:

“What’s your superpower as a coach?”

I didn’t even have to think about it.

My superpower is bringing out the best in you.

Because let’s be honest…

Most of us already know what we “should” be doing.

We’ve tried the diets.

We’ve joined the gyms.

We’ve bought the planners, the apps, the programmes.

Lack of information isn’t the problem.

The real challenge is everything that gets in the way...

The guilt, the overwhelm, the tiredness, the feeling of always being “on”, and that heavy sense of losing yourself under the weight of everyone else’s needs.

What I really do isn’t hand you another rigid diet plan or a complicated workout regime.

What I do is help you get out of your own way.

Quieten the noise.

Remove the pressure.

Reconnect you with your energy, your confidence, and the part of you that’s been buried for far too long.

When that happens, something amazing shifts…

You start to show up as the woman you’ve been trying to get back to.

That’s the magic.

That’s the work.

And honestly?

It’s about…
