✨️What a year it has been ✨

✨️I am so deeply grateful to every family who trusted me to walk alongside them this year — through pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period. Supporting them on such powerful, life-changing journeys, and witnessing their families grow and flourish, is an absolute honour. I truly have the best job in the world!

✨️A huge thank you as well to my wonderful doula colleagues , my family and friends, and all the incredible people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting along the way. I couldn’t do this work without your support and encouragement.

✨ I know this time of year can feel difficult and overwhelming for many, but I’m wishing you all a peaceful Christmas and a New Year filled with health and happiness 🎄🥰✨

“You can always say no…”
…but that doesn’t mean it’s always easy.

✨When navigating maternity services, you can be faced with endless recommendations, interventions, information - and unfortunately, sometimes misinformation, coercion, or even scare tactics.

✨Yes, it’s your body, your baby, your choice. You always have the right to say no.
But standing firm can feel incredibly hard, especially when we’ve grown up believing that doctors and the system knows best.

✨Pregnancy and birth are vulnerable times. Trying to find your voice and hold your ground in those moments can be challenging - and that’s completely normal.

✨Preparation helps.
Building knowledge, understanding your options, knowing the evidence, and having confidence in your decisions can make all the difference. It allows you to navigate your care from a place of empowerment rather than fear.

As a doula and antenatal educator, I support my clients by:
🩷 Explaining how birth works
🩷Sharing up-to-date, evidence-based information
🩷 Exploring all the options without judgment
🩷 Helping them feel confident and calm in their decisions
🩷 Supporting their birth partners to advocate too

✨Because saying no (or yes) becomes so much easier when you’re informed, supported, and confident in your choices.

✨Birth Partners ✨

✨A birth partner’s presence can make all the difference during labour and birth. Whether it’s a partner, friend, or family member — their love, support, and reassurance can help the birthing woman feel safe, supported, and empowered.

✨As a birth doula, I don’t just support the birthing person — I’m also there for their birth partner. Working together as a supportive team, ensuring everyone feels confident and connected throughout the journey.

✨During my antenatal sessions, birth partners are always included and encouraged to join in. We explore how they can provide both physical and emotional support, understand the flow of labour, and feel prepared for whatever path birth takes.

Practical ways birth partners can prepare for the birth:
🌿 Write the birth plan together — understanding her wishes helps you advocate and communicate with confidence.
👜 Pack the birth bag together — so you know exactly where everything is when it’s needed.
💫 Learn about physiological birth — understanding the body’s natural rhythm helps you provide support with trust and patience.
💖 Understand the emotional stages of labour — recognising when they need encouragement, space, or gentle reassurance can make all the difference.

✨Birth is a team effort, and when everyone feels informed, supported, and connected, it helps create a calm and positive environment.

✨You can love your baby with your whole heart and still find some days really, really hard.

✨Those feelings don’t cancel each other out - they’re both part of this journey, and they’re both valid.

✨Take a breath, give yourself grace, and remember: you are enough, exactly as you are 🩷

✨ The Placenta ✨

🌿Not only do you grow a whole new baby — you also grow an entire organ to support them. The placenta provides your baby with oxygen and nutrients, removes waste, and produces vital hormones throughout pregnancy and birth. It really is truly incredible!

🌿Whenever I’m supporting birth clients, I’m always in awe of this incredible organ — it’s such a privilege to see the placenta in all its glory (and to capture a photo if you’d like).

🌿Some people choose to honour their placenta in different ways — through encapsulation, keepsakes, or even a ceremonial burial.

🌿No matter what you decide to do with yours, do take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the wonder of the placenta — and your amazing body for creating it!

✨️The Post-Birth Visit✨️

🍁 A moment to pause and look back - to reflect on your birth journey, to ask questions, and to begin processing the incredible experience of bringing your baby into the world. A space for reassurance and support while marvelling at your beautiful newborn.

💫 I had the joy and privilege of walking alongside this beautiful little one’s mummy and daddy as they prepared to welcome him earthside and be present with them throughout labour and birth.

🍁 Each birth holds its own story, its own rhythm, its own magic. It’s always such an honour to be invited into that sacred space - to witness the strength, love, and transformation that unfolds as a new family is born. 🥰

✨Hello & welcome

With a few new followers here, I thought I’d re-introduce myself 👋

🌸 After 16 years nursing in the NHS, I followed my passion into all things pregnancy, birth & beyond, completing my doula training in 2022 – and I’ve never looked back.

💫 In 2024, I trained as an independent hypnobirthing teacher, deepening my knowledge of the mind-body connection to help families prepare for calm, confident births.

📚 I’m endlessly curious about birth & motherhood – from books to research to podcasts – keeping up to date so I can share the most relevant knowledge and guidance with the families I support.

👩‍👧‍👦 As a mum of two (now 11 & 14 – time really does fly!), I bring not just experience, but empathy and understanding of the ups, downs & everything in between.

🧘‍♀️ I’ve learned the value of self-care - yoga, a hot bubble bath & sipping a mocha in peace are my go-tos. A rested, grounded me benefits everyone!
