It is really tricky because there is really not much research out there... because women's health is massively underfunded and heavily biased.

I can not find any evidence linking a previous placenta abruption to a more risky VBAC specifically. However, a repeat abruption increases by 10%.

It is important to understand that the care navigation will then have an impact on your risk associated with a VBAC (such as uterine rupture), and it is about balancing the risks.

It’s hard when there is just not enough research out there… it’s important to understand it doesn’t matter what your previous health concerns or currently health concerns are you have the RIGHT to birth how you want.

Now it might mean that you end up deciding to have a c-section based of the information, risks and personal choice but the right to have a Vaginal birth is still totally there for you.

It’s important that you understand the risks presented and how YOU feel about the risks vs being told how to feel how about the risks.

And getting the right team behind you that will support your choices even if they are out of guidelines.

Breech Birth is a variation of a normal birth position.

Breech birth is important to acknowledge as a position where you can birth your baby. This is not something that the medicalised birth world what to think but it is true, women and birthing people have been birthing their babies this way for... well a long bloody time!

The thing to bear in mind is that you might have a bit of a fight to get the birth you want. Get support and find a midwife that supports breech births.

Approximately 0.4–1% of pregnancies are complicated by placental abruption.

No evidence suggests that placement of the placenta increases or decreases the risk of placenta abruption.

There is usually a concern if the placenta sits along the scar line, but posterior placenta means the place of the placenta is behind the baby away from the scar line.

Here is an interesting question but one I am not really able to answer.

Pain is personal, like our decisions and our experiences.

What I can say is prepare yourself to manage "pain" using hypnobirthing to help you understand why something might be painful can help you manage (either through hypno techniques or more medicalised methods) will empower you to make informed choices and take back control.

Birth rights are human rights… it sounds crazy that we have to tell people or remind people they have the ability to say no, be treated with respect, compassion and empathy and that simple they have the right to eat during labour.

Here are some examples of what you have the right to… but as a blanket rule you can do what ever the hell you want!

Birth trauma is more and more common but it is not normal.

Birth trauma is not an inevitable side effect of childbirth. But increasingly common, it’s really not hard to see why, with increasing numbers of births happening in a medical setting, reduction and deskilling midwives.

With the biggest factor of preventing birth trauma is respecting women and birthing peoples rights before, during and after.

It is the trusts responsibility to reduce (stop) maltreatment and obstetric violence.

It so important to be informed and have the right support to help navigate the system and advocate for the birth you want.
