HG Revive Helping you to feel the very best of yourselves by enhancing natural beauty and natural wellbeing I offer therapies to help clients feel their very best.

WHO WE ARE
Hi, I’ll start with a little introduction…HG Revive is a wellness clinic set up and run by myself, Kate Ward, with the support and medical advice of Dr Adam Culverwell. Adam has been a practicing Consultant working in both the NHS and the independent sector for over 13 years. As a practicing consultant Adam is on the specialist Register and regulated by the General Medical Council. My c

linical background is as an advanced radiographer with over 25 years experience working in the NHS, regulated by the HCPC. This year has been exciting as I have undergone training to become an aesthetic and wellness practitioner. I have achieved this through the prestigious Dr Hennessy academy, MCS aesthetics academy, CPD with Dr Tim Pearce and of course with training and learning provided by Adam.. At HG Revive our aim is to enhance people's natural beauty and well-being in a professional, safe and responsible manner. HG Revive offer a range of wellness consultations and treatments. Currently specialising in fine lines and wrinkle treatments, dermal fillers, and vitamin boost treatments. A further range of exciting treatments are planned for the near future. Every initial face to face consultation will be individual with a personalised plan to meet realistic expectations from the treatments on offer. I am confident that my my vast experience working in the NHS with sick, injured and anxious patients along with my super friendly personality will put clients at ease. Having Adam as a supervising Doctor means we can provide your treatment prescriptions required, with further medical advice and support if needed. If the treatment that would be best suited to you isn’t something we do, we can recommend another practitioner for you. As registered medical practitioners we can offer the highest safety standards. I am experienced and able to manage even the most serious (although rare) complications, for example, being anaphylaxis trained through the Resuscitation council and trained in complications of aesthetic medicine. It is very important to know what training your practitioner has, whether their knowledge of facial anatomy and what lies beneath the skin is faultless, whether they are experienced in knowing how to minimise risk and when necessary capable and experienced in dealing with complications, emergencies and reactions. With us, you will be in safe hands, feeling confident that the treatment you chose will make you feel the very best of yourself. Give us a call or message me to make an appointment for a face to face consultation WHERE ARE WE? WHY CHOOSE HG Revive? With so many aesthetic and wellbeing clinics around, why should you choose us?
· HCPC registered practitioner. Aesthetics and wellness remains an unregulated industry and it is hard to know the quality of the services you chose. You can be reassured that we are both professionally regulated. I am regulated by my governing body, the HCPC and Adam by the GMC. This means not only are we experienced in working to high clinical standards but this is a essential requirement of our practice. As an aesthetics practitioner, I am regulated by the JCCP and CRS.
· FULLY INSURED- I am fully insured to perform the procedures.
· TRAINED by medical professionals on accredited training programmes. I have undergone training by multiple medical professionals who are specialists in these therapies. I keep up to date with professional development and new advances.
· PRESCRIBING- Anti wrinkle treatments and vitamins are prescription only drugs which will be prescribed on an individual basis.
· FREE CONSULTATIONS- Face to face consultations are needed prior to any treatments. This allows any concerns, worries or expectations to be discussed in a safe, medical and friendly environment, before booking.
· AFTERCARE- to ensure client satisfaction, I encourage reviews after treatment , either face to face or via face time.
· TREATING POTENTIAL COMPLICATIONS- I am trained to treat complications that may arise and I have extensive anaphylaxis training. Some aesthetic practitioners do not have this knowledge, training or often no medical experience whatsoever.
· MEDICAL EXPERIENCE- I have over 25 years experience of working with patients. Providing a high standard of care, safely and ethically is second nature. As a Dr, Adam is available if needed and we, together, will provide safe and ethical care without any pressure.

🌟Collagen

Has anyone listened to this podcast that was on the bbc earlier this month?
Its a really interesting discussion with some top experts in this field on whether oral collagen supplements actually work.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002tbzx

In a nut shell, the conclusion was that collagen supplements are mainly marketing twoddle and good skin care including retinoids and vitamin c, a healthy lifestyle and wearing a daily SPF will do far more good for your skin.

🌟Collagen and Microneedling

Studies have also shown that microneedling (by a qualifed practitioner) is proven to be effective in its ability to stimulate collagen and elastin production. Regular use of microneedling can thicken skin, smooth scars of all sizes, and reduce wrinkles. So, a good skincare routine alongside treatments of microneedling will give great results.

The BCAM (British college of Aesthetic medicine) states that medical microneedling is supported by clinical studies to be effective in non-surgical and non-ablative treatment for a variety of skin conditions. These include aging, wrinkles, fine lines, scarring (acne and surgical), as well as hyperpigmentation. Medical microneedling is practiced by medical practitioners only, trained to use deeper needle pe*******on and accurate technique to stimulate the dermis layer of the skin.

If you are interested in knowing more about microneedling, or to book in for a course of medical microneedling and advice on a great skincare routine with Cosmed products, including retinoid and spf use, contact HG Revive.

What's the latest on Collagen?

11/04/2026

Lets look at microneedling..

✨ One session helps. A course transforms. ✨

Microneedling works beautifully as a standalone treatment, but the real magic happens with consistency.

A course of 3–4 sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart, allows collagen and elastin to build progressively with each treatment.

Studies have shown up to a 400% increase in collagen and elastin deposition after 4 sessions.

✨️Consistency and great skin care = results. ✨

What is medical microneedling?

Carried out by trained healthcare professonals
Uses deeper needle pe*******on
Treats acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles
Greater skin remodelling and repair by reaching deep into the dermis level of the skin

‼ A new article published in the BMJ highlights the growing appetite from skin cancer experts for an outright ban on commercial sunbed use in the UK.

Skcin have long warned the public about the dangers of sunbed use which increases the risk of melanoma and other forms of skin cancer — especially among young people. Yet we know all too well that current regulation is failing to curb usage and reduce harm.

🔑 Key points from the article:
• Sunbed use is surging, particularly among Gen Z, with social media promoting tanning as part of wellness culture.
• Even though under-18s are banned from using sunbeds in England & Wales, many still do with a third of 16-17 year olds reporting usage.
• Unsubstantiated industry claims & aggressive marketing is used to influence a vulnerable population.
• A higher density of sunbed outlets in north England and deprived areas correlates with higher melanoma rates in young people in those regions.
• Regulation alone has proven insufficient in other countries too.

✅ What the authors recommend:
1. A nationwide ban on commercial sunbeds.
2. A buy-back scheme as implemented in Australia could help reduce economic harm to operators and ease the transition.
3. Strong public education on UV / sun safety should accompany the ban, though it may take a generation to shift behaviours.

The UK government has pledged to prioritise prevention and to reduce health inequalities as part of their 10-Year Cancer Plan. During the consultation, Skcin submitted recommendations urging a comprehensive review of existing sunbed legislation—with a ban considered as a potential route forward. We hope the united and consistent actions of experts and charities continue to raise this important topic up the political ladder.

In clinic, there should be one priority above everything else:

PATIENT SAFETY

I see a lot of “clinical” content online where practitioners are:

• wearing jewellery
• wearing watches
• prioritising how things look on camera

And it completely misses a fundamental principle of safe practice.

Jewellery is a known vector for contamination.
It harbours bacteria, interferes with proper hand hygiene, and has no place in a clinical environment — particularly when performing injectable procedures.

This isn’t an option.
This is basic infection control.
If your injector is willing to overlook something this simple for the sake of appearance or content…

🤚what else are they overlooking?

Good clinical practice should always be grounded in:

*Clinical standards
*Safety
*Professionalism
*Infection prevention

Everything else is secondary.

Choose your practitioner based on how they practice, not just how they present online.
