Parenthood holds so much.
Love, joy, fear, grief, overwhelm, gratitude.
Sometimes all at once.

During pregnancy and after birth, the nervous system is already doing a lot of work. Add sleep deprivation, responsibility, identity shifts, and pressure to cope, and it makes sense that things can feel tangled inside.

As a doula and Yoga Nidra facilitator, I see again and again how rest creates space. Not to fix. Not to bypass. But to soften, regulate, and remind parents that they are not failing for feeling deeply.

All feelings are valid.
You do not need to earn rest.
You are allowed to pause.

Today, and every day, parent mental health deserves care.

Parent Mental Health Day is marked every year on 30 January, highlighting the importance of emotional wellbeing for parents and carers.

Menopause is not something people should be managing quietly at work.

As reported by BBC News on 27 January, menopausal symptoms are affecting women’s working lives, from sleep and focus to confidence and wellbeing.

Perimenopause and menopause place real demand on the nervous system. Fatigue, anxiety, brain fog, and disrupted sleep do not stay at home. They show up at work.

Yoga Nidra is guided rest that supports nervous system regulation and mental clarity. No movement. No effort. Just deep, restorative rest.

This is not indulgence.
It is maintenance.

If you are reviewing how your organisation supports menopause and wellbeing, message me to explore how Yoga Nidra can be integrated into your workplace support.

My work is not just about births.
It is about how safely people are held when things do not go to plan.

This week, I supported a client who was hoping for a physiological birth. After five long days in the hospital, her journey ended in a caesarean birth.

A beautiful baby girl arrived. She is here, and she is loved.
And it is also okay to acknowledge the exhaustion and disappointment that came with how the journey unfolded.

As a doula, moments like this can feel tender. I felt deflated that I did not get to be there in person when everything shifted so quickly. I am also deeply aware that my role was never about one outcome.

It was about presence.
Steadiness.
Advocacy.
Holding calm when decisions became heavy.
Supporting her consistently, even when that support had to be remote.

Birth does not always follow the story we imagine.
What matters is that no one feels alone when the story changes.

Honouring this mother, her partner, their beautiful baby, and the reality of how birth can unfold 🤍

Today I took a deep breath, embraced my nerves, and held my very first weekly Yoga Nidra session at Cricklewood Library and Café.

Yoga Nidra is not an easy sell. Most people know what a sound bath or gong bath is, but when you say Yoga Nidra, you can almost see the question marks floating by.

I knew sharing this practice with non-yogis might be a stretch. And yet today, five wonderful humans came together and it was magic. They listened. They softened. They rested. They felt the quiet power of deep breathing and true relaxation.

If you are craving stillness, better sleep, a calmer mind, and a nervous system reset, I would love to welcome you.

Join me for the next weekly session on Tuesday, 13th January, 11:30 to 12:30 or book a pack of three sessions and make deep rest a gentle habit for your body and mind.

DM me directly for tickets or click the link in the bio.

A full room.
28 mats.
Soft blankets, eye masks, bolsters, deep exhales.

We gathered at OMNOM Islington last weekend for a sold-out evening of pure rest, a collective exhale through the ancient practice of Yoga Nidra.

“Flow into Stillness was a wonderful experience. This was my first live Yoga Nidra session. Yevan created a warm, relaxing space with blankets, eye masks, and cushions. Highly recommend!”
— Nia 💛

And no, Yoga Nidra isn’t Savasana.
It’s not Downward Dog.
It’s a deep rest meditation, a journey between wakefulness and sleep where your body surrenders and your mind softens.

🧠 Studies show:
45 mins of Yoga Nidra = up to 3 hours of deep sleep 😴
It can reduce stress + anxiety by 68%,
and improve sleep quality by 70%.

💫 Birthing Biomechanics with Shellie Poulter 💫

Monday was pure magic.
A room full of bold, brilliant, open-hearted women, doulas, midwives, and wellness practitioners all coming together to explore how the body moves, opens, and flows during birth.

Under the guidance of the incredible (Shellie Poulter), we spent the day laughing, learning, and embodying what it means to trust the body’s wisdom.

There were birth balls, baby dolls, biomechanics, and belly laughs.
Moments of deep reflection.
Moments of pure joy.
And a reminder that birth isn’t something to be managed. It’s something to be supported, honoured, and moved with.

So much gratitude to Shellie for holding such a beautiful space (and for allowing us to stay and learn in her beautiful home) and to the powerhouse women I met - your energy was everything.

✨ Balance. Space. Gravity. Rest wisely and observe.

The order matters, and now, so does the way we move.

With Love ❤️
