There are a few more of you around here these days so I thought I’d share a little re-introduction post.

Hi! I’m Katy - mum to two teenage girls, artist, vintage hoarder, nature lover and founder of EARLEY+DAUGHTERS.

EARLEY+DAUGHTERS started in my kitchen back in 2022, when I used to make my candles in a saucepan on the hob - things have changed quite a bit since then!

We trade at different events and pop ups every weekend, we’re stocked in some incredible independent shops, we’ve been featured in the national press and we’ve won 6 awards for our sustainability efforts and our customer service. But every single candle is still made by me, in very small batches, with a focus on using natural, eco friendly ingredients, giving new life to pieces of vintage pottery, and deliberately choosing other small, family run British businesses as our suppliers.

I’m not a big factory or part of a big team. It’s just little old me; blending, pouring, wicking, labelling, sourcing vintage pottery, packing postal orders, hand delivering candles to my lovely local customers, writing and replying to emails, and posting on here!

Whether you’ve been around since the beginning or you’ve just discovered EARLEY+DAUGHTERS, I’m very glad you’re here 🤍

Tomorrow I’m London bound for the first Crafty Fox Spring market of the year 🤍

Find 100+ incredible makers and artists at The Crossing from 11:00AM-5:00PM on both Saturday AND Sunday (I’ll just be there on the Saturday) - it’s accessible, dog friendly and entry is free!

King’s Cross is a great place to spend the day - you can go for a wander around Coal Drops Yard, a stroll along the canal, grab something nice to eat and then have a browse of a market full of excellent handmade things (including EARLEY+DAUGHTERS candles, obviously).

I’ll be bringing our full range of fragrances - including our latest scent ‘verdant’ - plus a huge stash of Hornsea and Tremar. Come say hi 👋🏼

Starting the week chuffed to bits to announce that we’ve won Best Artisan Candle Retailer at the SME News UK Business Elite Awards for the second year running 🤍

For a little one woman business this is the best feeling, especially being up against some of the bigger candle makers here in Surrey. It just goes to show that you don’t need to be a huge company with lots of employees and financial backing to achieve your goals - you just need to love what you do, and be willing to put the work in.

Thanks to everyone for supporting me on this journey so far - the past four years have been hard work, but worth every second. It’s no mean feat running a business, especially in the current economic climate and when you are the sole provider for your family. If it wasn’t for you lovely lot I wouldn’t have a business at all, let alone a multi award winning one! A MULTI AWARD WINNING ONE!!!!! So THANK YOU! Thank you thank you thank you. You’ve made me very happy and proud indeed 🤍

Happy spring equinox 💖🥹🐰🌼🌿 And what a bloody joy it’s been waking up to sunshine these past few days, after such a long and rainy winter!

Today is Ostara - the spring equinox - and the mid way point between the winter and summer solstices. Today the hours of day and night are equal, and from now until the summer solstice the days will be getting longer and longer ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

This means it has been a whole year since we launched our ‘ostara’ candle, and over the past twelve months it has officially become one of our best selling fragrances - second only to ‘december’. Totally bonkers for a candle that I initially created for myself and didn’t ever intend to sell!

As this fragrance blend is a hormone balancer (it calms the nervous system, eases mood swings and promotes self confidence) we named it after the goddess of spring and renewal, who represents new beginnings and the awakening of life, and is a symbol of power, transformation and balance.

With top notes of lavender and geranium, middle notes of bergamot and mandarin, and base notes of frankincense and patchouli, this blend is grounding, warm and earthy. Available to buy online in our recycled amber jars 🤍

Soooooo excited to be back at with next month….. I can’t think of a better way to spend the Easter bank holiday than by supporting your fave small businesses at an absolutely ✨iconic✨ London venue!

I’ve been busy sourcing loads of vintage, and will be bringing more Hornsea and Tremar candles with me than ever before - plus I’ll be launching our brand new fragrance! As ‘verdant’ was inspired by London, and my family is from Pimlico, I thought Battersea would be the perfect place to do it 🕯️🏭🥰

I’ll be there on Monday 6th but the market is running for the entire four day weekend.

Lottie has an incredible eye when it comes to hunting for antique treasures, and sourced these gorgeous mid century Tams soup bowls on one of her buying trips. She had a vision of turning them into candles - so we joined forces and have filled them with EARLEY+DAUGHTERS’ bestselling ‘awaken’ fragrance. Perfect for spring 🤍

Made in the 1960s in Langton, Stoke-on-Trent, Tams pottery is deliciously chunky earthenware and these particular pieces have moulded geometric patterns and eye catching, singular handles.

These very special candles are available ONLY from Lottie’s beautiful shop on West Street in Midhurst. They are 280g, have a 45 hour burn time and are priced at £45 each 🤍
