Well guys and gals, there’s only one way to celebrate getting through a bonkers week, and that’s with a pint of the black stuff… Lunch of champions! That’s four more festive events ticked off the list - another seven to go before I can collapse in a heap 🥴

I had such a brilliant weekend trading at in Chipping Norton and at with - thanks so much to every single one of you that stopped by for a chat or to pick up a Christmas pressie or two! You make those early starts and long days in the cold worth it.

In the words of Mariah Carey… “It’s tiiiiiiiime!”

Time for the biggest event of the season - the Christmas fair 🤍

Taking place over two days this week (Wednesday and Thursday), you’ll find over 140 incredibly well curated local makers and vintage dealers peddling their wares so that you can find the perfect Christmas gifts for your loved ones - all under one roof!

You can late night shop on Wednesday (we are open til 9) and will be serving prosecco in the Riverside Cafe so you can really make an evening of it with all your pals! Entrance is £3 (under 18s are free) and you can pay on the door.

I know I keep banging on about shopping small but PLEASE don’t give the billionaires any more of your money this Christmas - spend it with the cool, independent brands that create amazing one off things and are just trying to make a living instead 🤍 Handmade gifts are so much more thoughtful than buying tat from Amazon!

I’m so excited to be joining my lovely stockist for a cosy, festive candle making evening on Wednesday 17th December, from 6–8pm.

We’ll sip mulled wine, enjoy homemade mince pies, and create our own natural soy wax candles using sustainable and eco-friendly materials, and extra food and drink will also be available to order on the evening so you can really make a night of it.

Candlemaking is incredibly fun and therapeutic, so this session will be the perfect chance to pause and do something for yourself during the Christmas chaos - or to celebrate finishing your shopping (if you’re more organised than me!!)

Well we’re finally coming to the end of the TWO WEEK half term holiday (seriously, whose idea was that 😩) and what a couple of weeks they’ve been!

Last week was mostly spent with a temperature and an eye the size of a tennis ball thanks to an unexpected and unexplained bout of orbital cellulitis. Then this week I’ve had both girls’ birthdays one after the other - Evie’s 13th and Daisy’s 16th - so two long days and nights of celebrations on the trot; one spent in London and the other in Portsmouth. My old lady body and my bank balance are still recovering 🤣

But it’s straight back into candle pouring / market trading mode! I have sixteen events over the next 6 weeks, and seem to live in a perpetual state of fear of running out of stock at this time of year - so please come and get your Christmas candles and gifts early! I’ll be at in Richmond this Sunday and here, there and everywhere for the rest of the year (check out my pinned post / website for full details). A reminder too that Christmas specials will be going on sale online a week on Monday (17th Nov) - think Hornsea cruet sets and beautiful pieces of vintage Tremar and Denby pottery filled with festive fragrances 🤍

Weeeelllllll market traders (and market shoppers!) it’s officially big coat and balaclava season!

It was 3 degrees when I left the house this morning and I had to de-ice the car for the first time this autumn (!!) - then I think the temperature peaked at about 8°C today. It’s October! I’m not ready for this!!

Back home in the warm now though, after a great day at with - I can’t believe that’s my last event with them this year! 😢 I’ve built up a lovely customer base in Newbury since my first market in September 2024 (I looked it up !) and I’m really grateful for all your purchases and for all the lovely, nerdy Hornsea chats. You are my people!

I’ll be back in 2026 - but in the meantime my candles are all available online and I’m trading all over the place every weekend up until 21st December so with any luck our paths will cross again before Christmas!

My next event is the monthly market on Saturday (1st November). Hope to see lots of you there! 🤍

Back home after an amazing day at the beautiful Frensham Heights with 🤍

Did you spot our new product? Our Hornsea match pots were a sell out - paired with one of our sugar bowl candles, they make the perfect gift!

Currently only on sale in person (while I find a postal delivery service that ships them as they are prohibited by Royal Mail and Evri 🤡🔥) we are offering 18 extra large, luxury matches in a vintage Hornsea vinegar jug, complete with striker pad on the base, for £18…. If anyone has any suggestions about shipping them please let me know as I’d love to be able to offer them online as well!

Time for a quick restock and an early night before heading to Newbury bright and early tomorrow. It’s my last event of the year so your only chance to stock up on candles before Christmas! Hope to see lots of you there x
