I became a Doula for many reasons - one of the main ones was because my Aunt inspired me. She showed me that through all adversity in life, love and care still wins. To truly do something that makes you happy.
On Monday she sadly lost her brave and long fight with cancer, and the hole she has left in our hearts is irreplaceable.
You put the fun in funny and I can’t thank you enough for supporting me and inspiring me.
I know she was a big light and advocate for the community, so this is their loss too.
All my love Boons, you’re a hero and you’ll never be forgotten ❤️

There is a unique pain that comes with preparing a place in your heart for a baby that never comes or you loose. A pain that not many understand.

I got to meet the newest member of my Scottish family yesterday. My gorgeous cousin Emily has tried to have a baby for many painful years and her husband and her have showed nothing but bravery, honesty and spirit throughout.

Emily has kindly allowed me to post about this as she wants to help other women and share her story in order to raise awareness about miscarriage, loss and struggles with conceiving - that in itself is a small example of her courage and empathy.

She was always meant to be mother and after years of gruelling IVF, harvesting and loss she has given birth to the most special baby boy, our miracle baby. I know this isn’t always the outcome for some of those struggling, but I wanted to share this story to give others hope, to show them they are not alone and to talk about a subject that is often hard to broach.

Bijoux was born with a very rare heart condition, which unfortunately there isn’t much known about. She is the most gorgeous and happy baby and is doing wonderfully.

I had the pleasure of getting to know her during her first few weeks and working with Zoe and her beautiful family. It’s feedback like this that confirms I have the best job in the world 🤍

At the weekend I attended a ‘Pregnancy Yoga Immersion’ taught by the legendary Lolly Stirk, assisted by Claire Whitman. Lolly actually taught my mum when she was pregnant with me so it was a lovely full circle moment being taught by her! She is a huge advocate for women’s health, wellbeing and birth rights and has done so much for the Active Birth Movement 🤍

Together, Claire and Lolly have created which I highly recommend!

The weekend included safe yoga practice for pregnant women, anatomy, foetal positions, breath-work and so so much more. I met so many incredible women on this course all with stories and wisdom of their own.

A huge thank you for the beautiful pictures too!
