🌱 Early Spring Activities 🌱

I don’t know about you, but the lighter mornings and evenings are getting me feeling more than a little excited for the proper arrival of Spring. Having two active boys, I spend a lot of time outside which always feels easier when it’s sunny and warm.

With the arrival of lighter, brighter and, dare I say it, warmer days, I’m eagerly looking at this list of ideas for Rupert and I to do to get us outside more on our days together.

All of these ideas are simple, require very little preparation or buying anything new, and just really celebrate the joy of getting outside in nature with your little one.

Whether they’re just finding their feet or they’re running rings around you already, all of these activities can be adapted to suit your little one and hopefully start a love of nature and appreciation for the simple joys of being outdoors.

So, get those wellies on, pack a hot cross bun or two for a snack (why wait until Easter?!) and head off outdoors. Which one do you think you’ll try first?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review

Tiddlers and Toddlers classes are SO incredibly special and SO unbelievably fun to teach!

There’s something completely magical about watching your tiny humans grow in confidence, independence and understanding through the comfort and reassurance that the familiar structure of these classes ensures alongside the sheer joy and excitement that each new weekly theme brings.

When toddlers are involved, you never quite know what each week will bring, but you know it’s going to be full of fun for you and your little one.

Tiddlers and Toddlers classes run in Haslemere on a Tuesday at 9.45am and in Liphook on a Wednesday at 9.45am and I’d love you to come and join us.

☕️🍰 Coffee and Cake 🍰 ☕️

Coffee and cake - a winning combination for sleep deprived mums AND a great way to get started on creating your village.

Community is at the heart of everything we do here at The Mummas Village and that’s why our classes have social time built in for you to chat with the other mums.

Taking those chats beyond class over a cuppa and some cake is a great way to get to know other parents. You have so much in common right now; it’s a brilliant time to get chatting and make some friends!

All it takes is that one brave person to ask, “Do you wanna go for a coffee?” or “Can I take your number?” It feels scary to put yourself out there sometimes - making friends as a grown up is so much harder than when we were kids. But, be brave, ask the questions, someone will say yes and you can start to make some friends!

We’re so lucky to have a huge number of fab spots to grab a hot drink and cake. Where are your favourite baby and buggy friendly spots near you? Let’s make a list in the comments for others to try - maybe you can meet there for a coffee?

✨ Get a FREE class on me ✨

It’s Random Acts of Kindness week so here’s a little gift from me to you ❤️

If you introduce someone new to The Mummas Village Haslemere, then you’ll BOTH get a class credit for a FREE class to use in a future term.

It’s the perfect reason to strike up a conversation with the mum you bump into at the supermarket, the one you smile at in the the playground or the one you see everyday when you’re picking up a coffee. Tell them about this offer and let’s get building your Village.

I can’t wait to meet who you’re introducing and thank you for sharing my little business ❤️

❣️ World Random Act of Kindness Day ❣️

There’s just something so wonderfully heartwarming about a day to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness isn’t there?

Random Acts of Kindness can be the simplest, smallest of gestures but they can have such a huge, magical and joy bringing impact on the recipient.

There’s ALWAYS a place for kindness and random acts of kindness towards others, but especially so when the recipients are new parents. Being supported, held and surrounded by kindness in those early days of parenthood means SO much and truly makes the world of difference.

Being kind is one the best things a human can be.

What is the kindest thing someone did for you as a new parent? Let us know below and inspire us all with ideas of how we can help any new parents in our lives 🥰

🌈 Things to do this Half Term 🌈

It’s February half term, everywhere is busy, the weather still isn’t great AND your favourite The Mummas Village classes aren’t running this week!

WHAT are you going to do to fill your days and entertain your tiny human?!

Fear not! We may not be seeing you in class, but The Mummas Village has got your back with some of our favourite, tried and tested activities to get everyone outside, burn off some energy and fill your February Half Term days with fun!

Let’s Go!

❤️ Puddle Jumping - let’s embrace the weather, get the waterproofs on and splash away!

🧡 Making a homemade birdfeeder - there are some lovely, simple ideas online for birdfeeders that can easily be done by little hands with items you’ll have at home. Plus you’ll have more birds visiting your garden so watching them can be another way to entertain little ones!

💛 Planting Spring bulbs - the supermarkets and garden centres are full of prepotted bulbs that can easily be taken apart and repotted and placed around the house. Toddlers will LOVE the responsibility of watering them too!

💚 Feeding the ducks - a perfect one to encourage reluctant legs to walk, take a bag of peas or some special duck food, and take them for a wander to see how many ducks they can find to feed.

🩵 Bug Hunting - take a magnifying glass and print off a Minibeast guide and head out into the garden, into the woods or to the park and see what minibeasts you can find.

💜 Going on an adventure - everything can be an adventure if you make it so! Wrap up, take some snacks and head to the woods. Who will you find there? What will you see?

🩷 What’s in the box? - give your little one an empty box and encourage them to find some treasures in the garden or on a walk. What will they find?!

This is a post you’ll want to refer back to, so make sure to SAVE it and let us know what fun you get up to this week.

🩷 Happy Galentine’s Day 🩷

A day to celebrate the beautiful female friendships that are so important in our lives. Women are incredible and when women support women, true magic happens.

Being supported and surrounded by women and are there for the highs and the lows and every step of life with you is such a blessing.

At The Mummas Village, we don’t just do baby and toddler classes. We’re also here to support you, the wonderful mums, and as teachers we absolutely love watching those first moments of friendship happen in class - and in the coffee dates afterwards.

Because motherhood is better with a Village ❤️

❤️ What I love most about about my job ❤️

I think all the other Village teachers would agree with me that we really do have the best job. We get to spend our days with your and your beautiful families, having fun with your little ones and supporting you through your early years of parenting. We’re so lucky.

I will never take it for granted when you choose to book and rebook classes with me and I absolutely LOVE getting to know you and your little ones.

Thank you for letting me do a job I absolutely adore doing ❤️

It’s National Storytelling Week, an annual celebration of the power of sharing of stories and the importance of reading for pleasure.

Today, these photos of my boys reading in bed together came up in my phone memories from 2 years ago today that I couldn’t help sharing.

Reading has always played a huge part in my life and it makes my Mummy heart so happy to see my two little boys share that joy too.

I can so clearly remember this particular story time, they were freshly bathed and jumped into bed together with their favourite Julia Donaldson books. Teddy was so excited to be reading to his brother and without prompting cuddled up to him. It was such a beautiful moment.

Reading stories is such a special part of motherhood. I remember the first time I read a book to Teddy as a tiny baby and I felt like a proper mum! Since then there have been countless stories - some read over and over and over again, and now Teddy and I cuddle up reading chapter books together.

Reading with your children has so many benefits so it’s always a good idea to share a story, and with this weather being less than ideal right now, it’s the perfect rainy day activity.

So, let’s all cosy up this weekend and share a story. What’s a favourite one in your house? ❤️

💫 Good Things are ALWAYS happening 💫

I spotted a post sharing this idea a while ago and absolutely loved it so decided to give it a go.

These winter months can feel tough at times and it can be harder to spot the glimmers in life. I’ve found that having this note on my phone that I add to each night really does help with keeping that positive mindset and feeling gratitude for life.

Now, it doesn’t mean life can’t still be tricky at times, but it does help remind me that amongst all the tricky bits there are some pretty awesome bits and when you make a conscious effort to look for and record them then more and more become apparent.

Why not give it a try and see what you think, because good things are ALWAYS happening ❤️
