A massive Practically Wild thank you to this gorgeous group of people 😁
We had a fantastic afternoon in the woods together yesterday, talking, laughing, eating and drinking, with a little bit of whittling thrown in! And the squirrel biscuits stood up well to a dunking, in case you were wondering 😂
We can’t wait for our next session, which will be on Saturday 6th December, with details to be released shortly…

Only a week to go until our Practically Wild Women whittling session, and we can’t wait to spend an afternoon in this gorgeous woodland together on Saturday 8th November 12 - 3pm!

We still have a couple of spaces left… contact us if you’d like to:

• find out more about our native trees
• whittle something to take home
• learn to use knives and saws safely
• cook a light lunch on a wood fire

The cost of £25 includes hot drinks and home-made biscuits too, so why not treat yourself to some down-time?

Looking for something to do on these autumnal weekends? Come and find out more about our Practically Wild woodland sessions at this lovely event at the Bale House Visitors Centre at Fairlight. With so much to see and do, you’ll be spoilt for choice!
With thanks to Groundwork for organising such an exciting event 🙏

Corn Dolly making- one of the free drop in heritage craft workshops that will be available to take part in at our High Weald Celebration event on Sunday 26th October, 11am-4pm.

Corn dollies were central to ancient rituals, especially in cultures which relied on cereal crops for survival. People believed the spirit of the corn lived in the crop, retreating into the final stalks as the harvest progressed. The dolly would house the spirit through the cold winter, with the hope that its return to the fields in spring would guarantee a successful harvest.
