Reflexology isnt just about feet, although it's probably the most well known reflexology modality in the western world.

I use duopody (two feet) to help your body balance itself to come back to homeostasis (equilibrium), so it's a little different to the more widely available one foot at a time reflexology. Cottage Reflexology

I'm also trained in auricular reflexology and ear seeding which applies Traditional Chinese Medicine protocols to assist unblocking the TCM meridians. In-Spires Reflexology College

My newest learning journey, is with Katie Blake, The Skin Whisper (who supplies Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop brand with her bespoke Gua Sha tools), where I'm training in Advanced Facial Gua Sha, The Five Elements, Facial Reading and Diagnostics. If you have attended The Big Retreat Festival over the last few years, you may recognise Katie , as the facilitator of early morning facial yoga, and other fabulously insightful inputs.

I'm really excited to expand my reflexology repertoire and in the coming months, bring this element of reflexology to Pembrokeshire.

It's World Reflexology Week.

It's been a busy day in my treatment room; treating clients who are seeking help with various issues.

From helping to calm the mind of a couple of NeuroSpicy brains; someone whose aim is to help a nasty, longstanding cough, which likely is an off shoot of a more deep seated issue. Another customer is dealing with anxiety issues.

Lastly a new visitor to the treatment room, whose issues are eczema and painful periods. After some discussion, we agreed they are likely to be hormonally linked, so in coming weeks we will treat with auricular therapy, ear seeding and duopody. I sent her away with a quick hand reflexology tip to help a bad back too.

These are all types of reflexology (hands up who thought reflexology was just for your feet!).

Your body stores so much.... reflexology could help dissipate the emotional, lymphatic and fascial memory.

Your body stores so much.... reflexology could help dissipate the emotional, lymphatic and fascial memory.

🌌 The Secret Symphony Between Your Fascia, Emotions, and Lymphatic Flow 🎻

What if your body’s emotional memory wasn’t just stored in your brain — but in your fascia?

Welcome to a revolutionary understanding of how your connective tissue, your feelings, and your fluid flow are in a constant, beautiful dance — and how healing your lymphatic system might just help you heal your heart.

💡 Fascia: The Body’s Hidden Conductor

Fascia is a web-like connective tissue that wraps around every muscle, bone, nerve, and organ. It holds the structure of your body — but it does much more than that.

According to research from Harvard Medical School and the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies, fascia has mechanosensory and emotional memory capabilities. Yes — your fascia feels.

When trauma, stress, or suppressed emotion occur, fascia can tighten, harden, and hold. This causes stagnation not only in muscles or joints — but in your lymphatic flow.

💧 Stagnant Emotions = Stagnant Lymph

The lymphatic system relies on the mobility of fascia and muscle contraction to move lymph. If your fascia is restricted from old trauma, surgery, or chronic emotional stress, your lymph slows down, detox backs up, and inflammation can quietly rise.

Imagine unresolved grief from years ago living not just in your heart — but in your hips, chest, and even your gut fascia, causing chronic puffiness, digestive issues, and fatigue.

🧠 The Vagus Nerve Connection

Your vagus nerve, the major highway between brain and body, winds through fascia-rich territories. Emotional restriction in fascial areas — particularly the neck, chest, and diaphragm — can impair vagus function, leading to:
• Anxiety
• Gut imbalances
• Poor sleep
• Lymphatic congestion in the head and neck

When you release fascial tension through manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), myofascial release, breathwork, and somatic therapy, you stimulate both lymphatic movement and emotional processing. This is where true detoxification happens — physically and emotionally.

🌿 The Body Remembers — But It Can Also Release

Fascial and lymphatic therapies are now being recognized not just as physical tools, but as emotional release mechanisms.

One 2022 study in Frontiers in Psychology noted that manual body therapies, particularly fascial and lymphatic work, can unlock “stored emotional pain” and “activate parasympathetic (healing) response.”

🌀 So what does this mean for healing?

If you’re feeling stuck emotionally, tired physically, or puffy and inflamed — the issue might not be just in your gut or your hormones.

It may be in the fascia that hasn’t felt safe enough to let go.

💎 Practical Tips to Support the Fascia-Emotion-Lymph Axis:
1. Dry Brushing – stimulates fascia and superficial lymph capillaries.
2. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) – softens tight fascia, moves trapped toxins and emotions.
3. Diaphragmatic Breathing – releases the solar plexus and vagus nerve.
4. Myofascial Self-Release – foam rolling with mindfulness.
5. Castor Oil Packs – soften adhesions and release stored trauma.
6. Movement with Emotion – dance, stretch, or cry as you move lymphatically.
7. Somatic Therapy – consider working with trauma-informed practitioners who understand the body-emotion connection.

✨ Final Thought:

You are not “too sensitive.”
Your body just speaks the language of truth — and it speaks it through your fascia and lymph.
Listen, release, and watch the healing ripple through your whole being.

⚖️ The Truth About Weight Gain & the Lymphatic System

— Why It’s Not Just About Calories In, Calories Out

When it comes to weight gain, most people think of one thing: fat. But what if the real issue isn’t fat—but fluid, inflammation, and a blocked drainage system?

Welcome to the hidden world of the lymphatic system, where weight is not just about what you eat — it’s about how your body drains, detoxifies, and deals with inflammation.

Let’s break it down 👇

💧 1. Fluid Retention ≠ Fat Gain

Your body is made up of up to 60% water—and your lymphatic system manages a big part of that.

When lymph flow is sluggish, your tissues hold onto fluid, especially:
• In the arms and legs
• Around the belly
• Under the chin and eyes

⚠️ This is not fat. It’s fluid — and it can cause your weight to go up on the scale, your clothes to feel tighter, and your body to feel heavy or “inflamed.”

🔥 2. Inflammation Blocks Your Body’s Ability to Burn Fat

Inflammation is the body’s fire alarm — and the lymphatic system is the firefighter.
But if the lymph is congested, the fire keeps burning.

Chronic inflammation:
• Traps toxins in fat cells (especially visceral fat)
• Slows down thyroid and metabolic function
• Causes pain, fatigue, and a “swollen” feeling
• Makes it harder to lose weight even when you’re eating clean

✅ Lymph drainage clears inflammatory molecules (like cytokines) from your tissues, calming the immune response so your body can focus on repair and fat burning.

⚙️ 3. Stuck Lymph = Slow Metabolism

Your lymph system works closely with your:
• Thyroid (which regulates metabolism)
• Liver (which processes fat and hormones)
• Gut (which absorbs nutrients and regulates immunity)

If any of these organs are congested due to poor lymph flow, your body goes into survival mode:
• Slower digestion
• Sluggish detox
• Hormone imbalances (especially estrogen)
• Increased fat storage

This is not your fault. It’s not laziness or lack of willpower — it’s a systemic backup.

🧬 4. Fat Cells Can Become Toxic Dumping Grounds

Here’s something few people know:
Your body stores toxins and excess estrogen in fat cells when it can’t eliminate them properly through lymph, liver, or bowel.

This means:
• More toxins = more fat storage
• Less drainage = more inflammation = more weight

💡 That’s why supporting your lymphatic system is a smart way to naturally reduce toxic load and make weight loss easier.

🛠️ 5. How to Support Your Lymph for Sustainable Weight Balance

You don’t need extreme diets or hours of cardio. You need flow.

Here’s how to support your lymph daily:
• 💦 Hydrate: Lymph is 96% water. No flow without fluids.
• 🧼 Dry brushing: Stimulates superficial lymph vessels
• 🏃‍♀️ Gentle movement: Walking, stretching, rebounding, vibration therapy
• 💆‍♀️ Manual Lymph Drainage: Deep reset for stubborn puffiness and fluid
• 🌿 Support your liver: Herbal bitters, lemon water, castor oil packs
• 🍽️ Eat anti-inflammatory: Ditch sugar, processed foods, and seed oils

🌟 The Bottom Line

If you’ve been:
• Doing “everything right”
• Gaining weight anyway
• Battling bloating and inflammation

Then it’s time to look beyond fat — and start supporting your drainage system.

The lymphatic system is not a weight loss gimmick—it’s the foundation of your body’s internal balance.
When your lymph flows, your body knows how to heal, reset, and find its natural weight again.
