"I couldn’t offer money, but I could give my time."

Linda’s connection to Saint Francis Hospice is deeply personal, she saw first-hand the "remarkable" care her brother John received on our ward. When she returned to volunteer years later, she was moved to find the nurses still remembered him - and her.

For Linda, volunteering isn't just about giving back; it’s about finding purpose and community. "The hospice has given so much to me... volunteering is one small way I can give something back."

Thank you, Linda, for your incredible dedication and for being one of our amazing Golden Heartbeats especially on Christmas Day!

Daniel Forrester has now been on the road for over a month, trekking from Romford toward Ghana. He’s already covered over 750 miles - overcoming injury and exhaustion to honour his late fiancĆ©e, Caroline.

The journey is brutal, but the mission is simple, take Caroline's ashes home to Kumasi and raise funds for Saint Francis Hospice.

"I miss Caroline every single day. But I feel her with me. She gives me strength when the road feels endless."

Let’s help Daniel reach his goal.

Every donation keeps him moving, donate here:

For many of the people in our care, this Christmas will be their last.

Whether it’s enjoying a traditional Christmas lunch on our Ward, visiting the London lights on the 'Jumbulance', or receiving expert care at home from our community teams - our teams will do everything they can to make the last moments they have left with their loved ones special and memorable.

Our doors remain open throughout the festive period, ensuring no one faces this difficult time alone.

Ā£36.13 could pay for a 1 hour of care on the ward this Christmas.
Your donation will truly make a difference to the hospice.

Our Therapies Team are Award Winners!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the Saint Francis Hospice Therapies Team has won the Connecting People Award at the 2025 Personalised Care Awards!

Our multidisciplinary team, which includes occupational therapy, physiotherapy and complementary therapy - was recognised for their incredible commitment to holistic, person-centred care.

A year of incredible impact:

- Complementary therapy sessions have risen by 22%, and occupational therapy support has increased by 18%.

- From our 'Living with Dementia' group to breathlessness and fatigue management classes, the team creates a space for wellbeing and confidence.

- The team also provides therapies for loved ones to help relieve stress and improve their overall wellbeing.

Klaire Craven from the team said "It’s about creating space for comfort and connection when life feels overwhelming." One of our carers even described the hospice as a "lifeline."

Please join us in the comments by saying a huge CONGRATULATIONS to our wonderful team for this well-deserved recognition! 🧔
