Ahhhh another amazing day of training and CPD....and I didn't take any photo's 'in action' 🙈 !!
Maybe that's just a sign of how amazing it was! 🤩
Connecting with like-minded colleagues from a variety of practices, talking benefits for an array of health needs (including, but not exclusive to, neurodiversities, postpartum health for baby AND mum, PTSD, chronic fear, attachment between children and parents (mums and dads!), back-to-school issues, meltdowns, hyperactivity, and so many more...), and asking aaaaaall the questions 🤣
If you'd like to know more, check out Niki's page for info on her Neurodevelopmental Therapy training courses and CPD. I've loved it so much and it's been so much fun, it integrates perfectly into the work I already do with Homeopathy and Family Dynamics Support, and I can't wait for the next one in 6 months (right Niki?! 😝) 💛🌟

I am so excited to be able to provide ✨️Neurodevelopmental Therapy🧠 as part of my wholistic health and wellbeing offerings 🌟
👶Primitive reflexes are movement patterns that a foetus/baby goes through in order to grow and mature their Central Nervous System. Neurodevelopment is focused on integrating primitive reflexes that have been retained within the system, and alleviating mental, emotional and behavioural symptoms that are causing issues in daily life, as a result.
🔒Primitive reflexes can be retained for a number of reasons and a few key factors are interference of integration whilst in utero (e.g. illness/stress during pregnancy) and during the birthing process (e.g. surgical/instrumental interventions, stress, speed, etc). The reflexes are unable to fulfill their natural developmental progression and thus can become stuck, or retained. Sequential reflexes, that rely on primitive reflexes to integrate, cannot develop fully or don't emerge at all.
🫠The retained primitive reflexes remain active and the person (child through into adulthood) has no control over them when they are stimulated - unable to maintain body posture; needing to mouth things when doing hand-led activities; night time incontinence past the usual age; meltdowns and lack of impulse control, are just a few examples.
🗣In our first appointment we'll go through a spoken consultation, a physical assessment and create a movement plan to carry out at home. You'll receive a written report to explain what we covered and how we'll be proceeding with your/your child's reflex integration. An in-person check-in is included, at 1 week post-assessment, to ensure you're feeling comfortable with the movements. How your follow-up sessions look will be discussed on an individual basis.
✨️💛The amazing thing about Neurodevelopmental Therapy is that it can work wonderfully in it's own right, and it can align beautifully with other whole-system approaches like Homeopathy 💛✨️
🌟I have 2 assessment spaces that I would like to offer out as complimentary, when booked before the 30th September.
🔥For appointments booked between 1st October'25 - 28th February'26, I will have an introductory rate on offer.
🪷And from 1st March'26, appointment prices will commence at full cost.
💛Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to book in! 🤗

⚠️TW: Needle Image⚠️
🕳 Puncture wounds come in many forms and from a huge range of sources. I've seen a fair few puncture wounds in my lifetime. Some I never thought I would; some more common place. Animal bites, insect stings, needle sites, cannula sites, both intentional and accidental 'piercings' 🫣 the one thing they have in common is that the depth of the wound is always much bigger than the point of entry. In other words, the damage done under the surface is greater than it appears externally. 🕳
Puncture wounds are actually an act I knowingly inflict upon myself multiple times a day. I developed Type 1 Diabetes Melitus when I was 21yo (although I will have been 'carrying' the susceptibility for it all my life), and since then I have been prodded and poked far too much for my liking! IV blood tests, finger-prick tests, injections, cannulas, you name it. What's particularly interesting is that I use different parts of my body (arms, legs, torso) depending on the puncture-type required, and the bodily response I have in each location can vary quite a lot.
I have also watched my mum go through conventional treatment for cancer. Again, there were lots of IV lines, blood tests, drainage tubes, injections. Bruising all the colours of the rainbow, varying skin and inflamatory reactions depending on the severity and location of the wound site, varying 'bounce back' and healing responses depending on the vitality of the body at the time.
One of the first things I asked the doctors, when I first had my diagnosis, was what can I do to aid my skin healing from the puncture wound sites? Their response: nothing. Maybe I could apply some Tea Tree ointment to ward off potential infection. That was it. And that is still 'it' nearly 15 years later.
Thankfully, I don't rely soley on conventional treatments and there are other tools available that actually can assist the body in healing when we are in need of a little help. Homeopathy is one of those tools 💪
↪️Dog bites that never needed a tetanus jab and were pain-free and healing well within 24hrs.
↪️Insect stings where swelling was decreased within the same hour.
↪️Injection sites that had turned purple and bruised, were soothed, calmed, more comfortable.
Below is a list of useful remedies, particularly for use in situations where a puncture wound has occurred, but as with all Homeopathic remedies their picture will fit other cases and scenarios.
⚪️Remedies:
💉Apis - think of the well known effects of a bee sting; any puncture/stab wounds that are accompanied by burning, stinging, smarting, prickling, itching. The area becomes red, hot and puffed up - watery, oedematous swellings that have a sheen to the skin, they're so swollen. The affected area my feel stiff and restricted. The area (and person in general!) may feel better for cool applications, being elevated/sitting up, and moving about. The area (and person) may feel worse from heat of any kind, being touched, after sleep or lying down, and can have a time aggravation around 16:00.
⚔️Calendula - characterised by excessive pain that is out of proportion to the injury, Calendula is indispensable in the treatment of any wound. It assists in healthy skin granulation and minimalises scar tissue formation. Open, torn, ragged, lacerated, suppurating wounds. Worse for damp and cold; ameliorated by warmth and rest.
🔪Crot-h - painful injection sites that become oedematous, oozing of dark bloody pus, surrounding skin turns dark or bluish. Threatening septic conditions. Pains feel generally burning. There is a mouldy odour from the wound and any secretions. Understandably, with all this comes irritability, melancholy, delirium, and individuals feel better for light and gentle motion.
💉Fagus Sylvaticus - wounds that are particularly slow to heal, is a key characteristic of this remedy. Wounds that fester and erupt, and even after beginning to heal they split and crack. Fatigue from bearing pain for so long, and generally feel better for warmth, dryness and sunshine. Fagus-s follows on well from Calendula.
⚔️Hypericum - useful in all states of injury, especially where there is damage to nerves; crushed, severed, cut. Pains are very sensitive, sharp and shooting, and can produce crawling sensations, tingling or even numbness at/around the wound site. Shuddering from pains.
🔪Ledum - injection sites, puntures and stab wounds that become purple/blue and puffy. The affected parts are cold, but averse to any warm applications and actually better for cool bathing/air. Painful tearing sensations or numbness. Pus is foul. This is your typical animal bite wound; that of a wasp sting (over bee stings - see Apis); or from stepping on something sharp, like a rusty nail. Ledum offers preventative action over tetanus, alongside Hypericum. Individuals can be disproportionately angry.
💉Nit-ac - discharges are acrid, offensive and brownish in colour, causing redness to the skin and even dissolving surrounding hair. Protruding flesh forms around the entry site of puncture wounds, plugged with pus, itching, dry and cracking. The person affected is worse for jarred motion/touch, changeable temperatures and generally insufferable; better for things being just so!
⚔️Plantago - puncture wounds, snake bites, cuts, burns, bruising - a general skin tonic, but also for any concerns involving the nerves. Sharp pains shift about, feeling as though there is 'something there' that should not be. Worse at night and in a warm room; better for sleeping and eating (feeling h-angry is the last thing you want here!). Skin around the wound site is sensitive and itchy.
🔪Ruby - has antiseptic properties, aids speedy coagulation of the blood, and encourages cells to remember their original purpose, thus minimising scar tissue and promoting healthy skin healing. With an affinity to stab wounds and lacerations, Ruby assists in the removal of toxicities from the body which is ideal in situations where the tissue damage is deeper than the entry point.
⚠️ This information does not replace or take away from the fact that in an emergency you should always seek urgent health care, however homeopathic remedies can still be used even in the interim before medical help is received and often results in less or no subsequent intervention being required. 🤗✨️
📸 Remember, this is just a snapshot of some of the remedies that may be useful in the event of acquiring a puncture wound, and you don't have to have everything listed for a remedy to still be very beneficial for you - it just has to be the most similar remedy that matches with your symptoms ☯️
💛If any of this post or any of the remedies have resonated with you, or you'd like more information on how homeopathy can support you, please do get in touch.

💛 This beautiful crystalline mineral is on display at the in London.
And I've no idea how to even begin to do it justice, as it is such a fundamental remedy in homeopathy - it stands as one of the big constitutionals, is multi-miasmatic and has such a huge personality, that this post may need to come with a warning label: Bring supplies, settle in, your appearance may resemble that of a nomad and your thoughts may have elevated to the clouds by the time you've gotten around to moving from your position 🌬
Sulphur is primarily sourced around volcanoes and hot springs 🌋 it is "omnipresent, multi-form, super-reactive, and versitile" (Vermeulen). Of all elements, it has the most allotropic forms (meaning it can occur as all three states of aggregation - gas, liquid, solid) and is found in all living organisms, making Sulphur a vital component in some proteins, vitamins, and hormones.
Sulphur cycles between the atmosphere, lithosphere (earth's crust), and hydrosphere (oceans and water masses). The 'rotten egg' odour comes from the release of hydrogen sulphide gas, created by the anaerobic respiratory processing of sulphate-reducing bacteria. It reacts with all metals, except gold and platinum, to form inorganic sulphides, and is an extremely active element on the whole. The paradox of Sulphur is that, by it's very nature, it should actually be thought of a 'solid gas'. It is polaric and can combine with almost anything, including itself; it likes to saturate the polarities within itself in order to combine with itself. 🤯 There surely can not be a more self-indulgent, egotistical substance!
Sulphur is an integral component of matches, medicinal purposes, fireworks, black gunpowder, as a fungicide/insecticide, vulcanisation of natural rubber, and treatment of certain skin disorders. Interestingly, Sulphur occurs not just in all proteins in the body, but also makes up part of the blood clotting agent Heparin; assists insulin in the metabolism of carbohydrates; and body reserves of Sulphur reside in keratin - hence the awful 'burnt hair' smell. The Sulphur content also dictates the curliness of an individuals hair! Sheep's wool can contain 5% of its weight in Sulphur and lanolin (sheep's wool fat) is rich in Sulphur - which may be an interesting connection between a Sulphur patients dislike of wool clothing on their skin, as much as their tendency to producing allergic skin reactions.
A most common adverse effect of sulphiting agents in food, is that of bronchoconstriction similar to asthmatic effects. This may be accompanied by intense skin itching, anaphylaxis, digestive upset, hypotension and angiodema - all symptoms that are characteristic of, and can be treated by, the homeopathic remedy Sulphur.
🟡 Sulphur has an affinity to the circulatory system, the skin (especially folds and creases), the vertex, soles of feet, nutrition organs (esp. digestive system), all membranes, and owns primarily left sided afflictions.
Sulphurous induviduals can be philosophical, dreamers, theorising; and they can be practical, mechanical, idealistic. However, the egocentricity dis-order within a Sulphur often means that it is too much trouble to make their many ideas become a reality. Genius ideas tend to stay just that, despite the depth and intricacy of knowledge that they hold, the inclination to put things in motion is often not there. The unquenchable thirst for knowledge is coupled with a prodigious memory, which can be brought out and displayed with confidence as though dictated straight out of a text book.
Their vanity and self-assuredness can sometimes provide a veil for their actual lack of self-confidence. Cognitive dissonance is rife and they would rather defend an inaccurate belief they have, than admit they had been incorrect. This stems from a fear of embarrassment and they will go to great lengths of boasting, exaggerating, and debating for the sake of forcing the spot light, controling what is front and centre, in order to steer others far away from their insecurities.
Sulphurs are like radiators, they have their own heating system and it's on constant! They can be sensitive to drafts, yet prefer being in fresh open air. All secretions (sweat, urine, stools, etc) smell highly offensive and they burn when they come into contact with the skin. And this is the same for pains and localised flushes of heat, experienced as burning sensations. Because of this, they have an intolerance of and feel worse for warm applications, close rooms, the heat of a bed, etc.
They experience a great weakness with hunger and a big energy dip around 11:00, usually resulting in snacking behaviours close to meal times. Sulphurs usually reach for sweets and spicy foods to get the energy pip they crave. They also tend to have a night time aggravation, waking in the night around 4-5am.
In the world of homeopathy, Sulphur is fondly known as the 'ragged philosopher'; head in the clouds, with schemes that could change the world, either completely unkempt and not a care for it, or beautifully presented in their appearance but with a small detail left out of place - a loose button, an ill fitting shirt, a hole in their socks, dirt under their chipped but otherwise manicured nails.
Sulphur is also an eliminator and a cleanser. It has the ability to de-toxify the body after overloading on too much of something, whether that's pharmaceuticals, drugs, alcohol, or other substances. It drives a person from their bed to evacuate their bowels, whereby stools are often very loose and urgent. Skin breaks out in festering cracks that don't heal well, voluptuous itching, and an unhealthy appearance.
Sulphur individuals are also collectors. And when this is seen in the context of Sulphur being a key Base Chakra remedy, it makes a lot of sense. When we don't feel safe, we may feel both physically and mentally un-grounded. We therefore make attempts to fabricate security from external sources, thus forming a false sense of safety. Some of the other behavioural approaches of Sulphur act as shielding, from others seeing their weaknesses. By utilising Base related remedies, reuniting the physical and etheric parts of the Self can take place.
🟡📸 Despite this being a much longer post than most of my others, as always, this is but a snapshot of the remedy picture of Sulphur, and you don't have to have everything listed for it to still be a very beneficial remedy for you - it just has to be the most similar remedy that matches with your symptoms ☯️
💛If this remedy has resonated with you, or you'd like more information on how homeopathy can support you, please do get in touch.

03/08/2025

🩸Cuts, grazes, lacerations, etc, are the very obvious and physical representation of what needs to be healed in our bodies. Our most fundamental barrier - our skin - has been breached and split open, leaving a direct entry into our inner selves. How we feel about our injuries can say a lot about what remedies we might need on an emotional level in general.
There are also some remedies that are known for their indispensable uses in first aid.
🩺 Did you know that during the 1800s, Florence Nightingale, as well as many of the nurses working alongside her, promoted holistic approaches and environments where healing could really happen in the most natural ways possible. They used homeopathy often; successfully treating and healing injuries ranging from minor ailments to more severe war wounds.
🌳 Much more recently, with my son's forest school group, we've been talking and learning about plants that can assist us with our healing, and they've begun to build their very own Natural First Aid Kits 🌿💚
🤕 A great 'Injury first-aid' collection would include:
⚪️REMEDIES
○ Arnica - emotional shock of the event, bruising, soft tissue trauma, can speed up the reabsorption of bruising, reduces pain and sensitivity.
○ Calendula - accelerates the healing of cuts and wounds, naturally wards off infection, repairs broken tissues more neatly and reduces scarring, reduces pains which feel out of proportion to the injury.
○ Hypericum - injuries to nerves, puncture wounds, and excessive pains (sharp, shooting, burning, tingling, numbness). Particularly where the nerves have been crushed (eg hammer to a finger, nail, etc).
○ Ledum - puncture wounds, animal/insect bites, bruising, black eyes. Wound sites tend to be paler than other remedies, with a blur tinge and feel cool (instead of hot and inflammed). They may also feel better for cool applications.
○ Rhus tox - 'sprains and strains', think hot painful swelling related to tendon and ligament trauma, worse for wet and cold. The initial movement after rest feels stiff and difficult, but motion thereafter feels much more comfortable.
○ Staphysagria - cuts and lacerations, especially those caused by medical instruments (eg after surgery) or a slipped knife when cooking!
🌱HERBALS
》 Arnica cream / Daisy Balm (Bellis perrenis) - bumps and bruises, aching muscles.
》 Calendula ointment/oil - wounds where the skin has been compromised, cuts, grazes, open; speeds up healing, neat knitting of skin edges, reduces scarring.
》 Flower Essence Emergency Spray - a calming combination of flower essences to soothes angst and worries (Bach Rescue Remedy is great, or Ainsworths Emergency Spray is fab and alcohol free - perfect for little ones).
》 Lavender oil - burns, trauma and irritation to the skin, calming effect in a stressful/urgent situation.
》 RRA cream (Rhus-tox, Ruta, Arnica) - aches and pains, particularly joint pain, tendon and ligament trauma.
I'm on the slow path of piecing together some resources on this topic...feeling out what parents want, what the children want, what makes the information accessible and most importantly usable for all ages. Drop me a 💚 if you'd like more information and to be kept in the loop for when these offerings materialise ✨️
💛 If you have any questions about the remedies mentioned above, or would like support for you and your loved ones, please get in touch! 🤗
