Arlington Reservoir Community Walk

This weather isn’t exactly inspiring for walks I know but, our next little meet will be this Saturday at Arligton Reservoir

9am meet.

Arlington has been added to the calendar to open the community walks up to those wanting to start a new fitness journey or get active again after a period of lower activity.

It might also serve well to those new to the community and not wanting to commit to a long walk with new people…

Whatever the motivation, I hope to walk with you soon, if you can make it Saturday at 9am then I will see you then.

The kiosk opens for coffee at 10am so two loops of the 2 mile reservoir should earn us a hot drink ☕️

I’ve got a website showing the calendar of walks and there is a link to join a WhatsApp group on the walk pages if you want to keep in the loop.

South Downs Way — Walk #1 complete

Today we completed our first South Downs Way walk.

This route has always been in my mind. I’ve spent many reflective moments cycling and running along this beautiful coastline, and Beachy Head has always felt like a place that carries deep emotion and history. The air there can feel heavy at times, and it felt right that a reflective coastal walk would become part of the more community walks.

Today’s route was a brisk 5½-mile out-and-back.
Hills climbed, conversations shared, and a much-needed hot chocolate stop at Birling Gap before heading back.

It felt really special to add this walk to the calendar for the year.



What more community walks are about

These walks are inclusive, accessible opportunities to walk and talk with like-minded people. Everyone arrives with their own story, their own battles, and their own reasons for being there.

We talk about:
• Physical achievements
• Mental barriers
• Everyday life challenges
• Future goals and ambitions
• And how we can gently push ourselves for more

There’s something for everyone:

• Arlington Reservoir — 2-mile loop
• Scotney Castle & Bedgebury — 4–5 miles
• South Downs Way — 5-mile challenge
• Bewl Water — 13 miles for those wanting more

And if you’re thinking about half marathons, marathons, ultras or even Ironman… we can absolutely bring that into the conversation too.
