I remember when I first introduced Sunday clinics.
It felt novel at the time. A quiet couple of hours for people who struggled with other days. A chance for me to rummage through Overgate charity shop in my never-ending quest for art deco furniture.
Then came the overflow patients.
At the time it felt accidental.
“How am I busy enough to need an overflow clinic?”
Now I’m staring at the diary, looking at a fully booked Sunday, back to back. What was once novelty is now routine practice.
So too is my very deliberate scheduling of a lunch break, purely to protect time for a charity shop dive.
Truth be told, Sundays were boring anyway.
