Firstly, my apologies that I couldn't announce this on Friday. After returning from our family holiday I was straight back delivering the Wim Hof Method and ran out of time🙈

Nevertheless, the draw has been completed now and I'm pleased to say has won our Workplace Wellbeing competition!!!

👉🎯 AN UPDATE ⬇️

We had a great WHM session today at RNAS Culdrose with our weekly Wim Hof Method group.

Next week there won’t be as much posted as I’m (Jamie) off on holiday for a bit.

However, we just wanted to let you know that we are working really hard on 2/3 priorities.

1- We are building our High Performance Protocol that will be our top tier offering. We are so excited for this and will have a lot more to share in due course.

2- We are trying to confirm and secure a venue and date for our next set of WHM Fundamentals courses, as we’ve had a lot of interest and absolutely love delivering these. Please be patient with us and watch this space….

3- Weekly sessions for groups that want to come together and practice the method via an instructor led weekly session will again be coming soon.

We appreciate that a lot of you want more from us and as soon as possible, and we love that. We just wanted to be transparent to keep you informed of how things are progressing.

We look forward to seeing you in the ice soon 😉🧊🧊🧊

At The H.A.L.O. Project, everything we do is built around four simple but powerful pillars:

Breath🫁 is the gateway.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU? 🫵

Resilience isn’t about being unbreakable.
It’s about being adaptable.

Right now, most people aren’t struggling because they’re weak…
They’re struggling because they’re constantly overstimulated, under-recovered and stuck in chronic stress.

Resilience is your ability to return to baseline.
To stay calm under pressure.
To think clearly when things get uncomfortable.
To respond, not react.

And here’s the truth:

Resilience isn’t built in comfort.
It’s built through controlled discomfort.

The answer is- OVER 9 MILLION!!! 😮

As I’m sure you’re already aware real change (in anything health based) is a culmination of lots of little improvements……

This is the first thing you’ll do when born and the last thing you’ll do before you die, and the quality and efficiency in how you breath won’t make much of a difference in one particular breath.

But, added together over and over again gives me reason to say that if you can improve how you breathe it is the single biggest thing you can do to affect/improve your health and performance💯🎯

It won’t be long until (with the help of Keith Jacka) we’ll be able to provide some perform specific training to individuals and teams.

I mean it’s pretty obvious when you think about it….. If you can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your breathing and blood flow that consequently athletic perform can improve. Breathing and blood flow play quite an important role in how the body works during exercise hey?!😉

Although we haven’t launched these service yet we’re interested to know who’s keen to take a whole different look at their performance to get an edge🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️🙋

1️⃣ What is stress in plain English?

Stress is your body’s built-in survival system.

It’s not bad. It’s ancient. It’s intelligent.

It’s what helped your ancestors:
• Run from danger
• Fight when needed
• Stay alert

The problem isn’t stress itself.

The problem is that in 2026, your body reacts to:
• Emails
• Financial pressure
• Social media
• Traffic
• Arguments
• Lack of sleep

… the same way it would react to a tiger.



2️⃣ The Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) — Your Automatic Survival Engine

Your autonomic nervous system runs automatically in the background. You don’t consciously control it.

It has two main branches:

🚨 Sympathetic Nervous System (Fight or Flight)

This is your gas pedal.

When stress hits:
• Heart rate increases
• Breathing becomes faster and shallow
• Muscles tense
• Blood moves away from digestion
• Cortisol and adrenaline rise

You become alert and ready.

This is useful short term.



🌿 Parasympathetic Nervous System (Rest & Digest)

This is your brake pedal.

When it’s active:
• Heart rate slows
• Breathing deepens
• Digestion improves
• Immune function improves
• You feel calm and grounded

This is where recovery, healing, and long-term health happen.



3️⃣ The Modern Problem

The issue today is:

We’re pressing the gas pedal constantly.

Very few people are intentionally pressing the brake.

When the sympathetic system stays on too long:
• Chronic inflammation rises
• Sleep worsens
• Focus drops
• Emotional reactivity increases
• Hormones become dysregulated
• Burnout risk climbs

It’s not that people are weak.

It’s that their nervous system never gets switched off.



4️⃣ The Key Insight

Stress isn’t the enemy.

Uncontrolled, chronic stress is.

And most people have lost the ability to consciously influence their nervous system.

That’s the real issue.



5️⃣ The Keys to Dealing With Stress (Simple & Practical)

Here are the fundamentals:

1️⃣ Learn to Control Your Breath

Breathing is the remote control to your nervous system.

Slow, controlled breathing:
• Stimulates the vagus nerve
• Activates the parasympathetic system
• Lowers heart rate
• Reduces cortisol

If you control breathing, you influence stress.



2️⃣ Build Stress Tolerance (Hormetic Stress)

Small, controlled stress makes you stronger.

Examples:
• Cold exposure
• Exercise
• Breathwork
• Heat (sauna)

These teach your nervous system:

“Stress is not danger.”

That’s powerful.



3️⃣ Recovery Must Be Intentional

Most people wait to relax.

High performers schedule it.
• Sleep hygiene
• Nature
• Deliberate down-regulation breathing
• Switching off screens
• Social connection

Recovery isn’t weakness. It’s performance strategy.

Your brain decides whether something is a threat.

If you interpret everything as danger:
• Your body reacts accordingly.

Training your mindset changes your physiology.

In a world where we feel and witness more and more “disconnection” it so empowering to be able to teach, and bring people back to connection.

The Wim Hof Method teaches us connection:
• Connection to the breath 💨 ✔️
• Connection to the mind 🧠 ✔️
• Connection to body 🧘🏻‍♂️✔️
• Connection to nature 🌿✔️

All to a deeper level than you have likely been before.

This is why in a time where we see more mental health issues, more disease and illness we know that for many we have a weapon against all of that, and it’s already within us!!

No matter how advanced AI, social media and civilisation becomes it doesn’t change the fact we are still human, and that CONNECTION is fundamental to our ability to thrive.
