Some recent snaps of local wanderings. π«πππ
I've recently been on a course run by the about increasing nature connection within our healthcare settings πΏ.
Studies have shown huge improvements in mental, physical and social wellbeing of patients in healthcare settings where nature based interventions are prioritised.
On a personal note as well, I find getting out and about locally, engaging with the changing seasons, smells, fruits, sounds keeps me grounded and in tune with my place on this little planet π
So many of my clients are housebound and aren't able to access the bounty that's currently sweeping the countryside.
So, the things I've taken away into my practice are:
-Trying to keep trees/gardens behind me on screen when I'm working virtually.
- Encouraging people to get outside / be positioned near to a window as much as able, even just to see a patch of grass (patients who were able to see trees rather than buildings in hospital recovered faster according to some studies !)
- Utilising nature sounds as part of my meditation practices.
- Exploring the potential of accessible, outside yoga workshops in the future.
Feel free to comment with any other ideas you may have!! π³
