I’m still in disbelief after the incredible day we had yesterday in Hereford with the Baton Of Hope UK 💙

To stand there and watch people hold the baton for the very first time was truly powerful. Every handover, the stories, the emotions, and the hope for change.

The support from the community was overwhelming also, including the singing, the cheering, the endless waves and beeps from passing cars 🚗🎶 all reminding us that people do care and that our voices are stronger together.

Hereford, you showed up with heart, with courage, and with unity. Your voices carried the message that we are all in this together, building towards a Zero Su***de Society.

It was also a privilege to meet people like Diana, and to hear her story for the first time. Moments like that remind us why we walk, why we talk, and why we must keep moving this mission forward.

Thank you Hereford for an unforgettable day. You’ve shown that hope is alive, and together, we are stronger.

A powerful commitment from Royal Mail 💙

With 135,000 employees across the UK, they’ve pledged to make su***de awareness and prevention training mandatory, ensuring members of staff have the knowledge to support themselves and others.

Alongside this training, we’re proud to be working with the Baton Of Hope UK to take prevention further.

All 135,000 employees will receive a mix of face-to-face and online training, ensuring everyone has the tools and knowledge to spot early warning signs and provide support.

We are thrilled to be working alongside Baton Of Hope UK on their incredible mission to create a zero su***de society.

A special shout-out to Ben Wilson, Mike McCarthy, and Steve Phillip for their tireless work in raising awareness and inspiring change.

This partnership with Royal Mail through the OurPulse Detect & Prevent app, enables:

- Real-time intervention when someone may be struggling

Around 19 people will die by su***de in the UK today. And tomorrow, and the day after that...

Our mission at The Jordan Legacy is to move towards a ***deSociety - a society that is willing and able to do all it can to prevent all preventable su***des. A mission that began within months of Steve Phillip losing his son, Jordan, to su***de in December 2019. His LinkedIn article, 'The Day My Son Took His Own Life,' was published only weeks after Jordan's death and was read by a global audience of millions: https://lnkd.in/e-r_5mzj

It was only after Jordan's death and our work through The Jordan Legacy that we learned of the magnitude of the problem, and that anyone can be at risk of su***de:

🔸 Each year in the UK, over 7000 people die by su***de
🔸 75% of su***de deaths are men, 200 are school children, 100 are university students
🔸 It is the biggest killer of young people under 35
🔸 2 out of 3 of us will be impacted by su***de during our lives

Each of these deaths is not - they were real people who had friends, family and loved ones, with careers ahead of them, with opportunities to lead fulfilling lives. What was missing was hope.

Research shows that most su***des can be prevented.
