An excellent tool for tracking your mood!
Many people are familiar with the popular term "the baby blues", which describes feelings of low mood, anxiety, irritability, or tearfulness caused by hormonal changes after birth. These feelings are usually mild and short-term, beginning around day 2 or 3 after birth and easing within two weeks.
But sometimes, these feelings don’t go away. For around 1 in 10 parents, they may develop into postnatal depression or another perinatal mental health condition.
That’s why we’ve created our Track Your Mood calendar which is a simple tool to help you notice how you’re really feeling day by day. By focusing on your dominant mood each day across a month, you (and your healthcare practitioner, if you choose to share it) can see if what feels like the “baby blues” may actually be something more.
You can use the tracker for yourself or for a loved one, on its own or alongside our separate GP Toolkit to support conversations with your doctor.
You will find the links to access both the mood tracker and GP Toolkit in the first comment below. ⬇️
Most importantly, please remember that support, recovery and hope are always possible. You are not alone and PANDAS is here to help. ❤️
A huge thanks to Laura, our Support Services Manager who drew this beautiful illustration.
[ID - a tired looking mother in a dressing gown kneels on the floor, holding a mug. Her hair is messy, and she looks sad and exhausted. In front of her, a baby sits in a bouncer, smiling. On the wall behind them is a calendar for June with several days highlighted in blue. The scene suggests the mother is struggling emotionally while caring for her baby.]
