Now that we’re fully back in action at Minerva Clinical Services, just a reminder of the NHS services available to you right here in your local pharmacy:

🩺 Hypertension Screening Service
High blood pressure is often called the “silent killer” because it usually has no symptoms.
If you’re aged 40+ (or 35+ and at higher risk), pop in for a free NHS blood pressure check. It only takes a few minutes and could make a big difference to your long-term health.

💊 Pharmacy First
You can be assessed and treated for seven common conditions without seeing a GP, including:
• Sinusitis
• Sore throat
• Earache
• Infected insect bites
• Impetigo
• Shingles
• UTIs (eligible women)

No appointment needed. Private consultation room available.

Minerva Clinical Services is now open as normal.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we arranged pharmacist cover. We are now able to provide all usual pharmacy services, including dispensing prescriptions and offering advice.

Due to a pharmacist being unavailable, Minerva Clinical Services is currently closed.

We can help with:
• Sinusitis (Age 12+)
• Sore throat (5+)
• Earache (1–17 years)
• Infected insect bites (1+)
• Impetigo (1+)
• Shingles (18+)
• Urinary tract infections – women (16–64)

We also offer NHS contraception services, including:
• Oral contraception without a GP prescription
• Emergency contraception (morning after pill) free of charge
• Advice on longer-term contraception options

No appointment needed. You’ll be seen by a highly trained pharmacy team in a private consultation room, close to home.

💉 Flu Vaccinations Still Available at Minerva Clinical Services

It’s not too late to protect yourself this winter. We are still offering flu vaccinations, and the flu season runs until March.

If you haven’t had your flu jab yet, you can still benefit from it, especially as flu cases continue to circulate.

✔️ NHS flu vaccines (eligible patients)
✔️ Private flu vaccines available
✔️ Children’s flu nasal spray (ages 2–3)

❗ Please note: We are no longer offering COVID-19 vaccinations, as we have now run out of stock.

🤧 Winter Bugs Going Around? Your Pharmacist Can Help

Do you have any of these symptoms?

Acute sore throat
• Pain or difficulty swallowing
• Red or inflamed throat
• Fever or feeling unwell
• Symptoms lasting up to 7 days

Sinusitis
• Facial pain or pressure around the cheeks, eyes or forehead
• Blocked or runny nose
• Headache or toothache
• Symptoms lasting up to 10 days

If so, you may not need a GP appointment. Under the NHS Pharmacy First service, our pharmacist can assess you and, if appropriate, provide treatment including prescription medicines.

We can also help with other Pharmacy First conditions, including:
• Ear infections (children)
• Urinary tract infections (women)
• Infected insect bites
• Shingles
• Impetigo

⏰ Please Order Your Prescriptions on Time

We’d like to remind our patients to order repeat prescriptions at least 7 days before you run out.

We will be closed from Thursday to Sunday next week, and we are currently extremely busy with:
• High prescription volumes
• NHS and private services
• Increased flu vaccination appointments

Ordering early gives your GP surgery and pharmacy enough time to process prescriptions and order items in.

🎄 Important Christmas Reminder
If you would like to receive your medications before Christmas, the last day to order your prescription is TODAY. Please do not leave it too late, as we may not be able to process late requests in time.

Protect yourself and your loved ones this winter with our full range of flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.

We are offering:
✔️ NHS Flu Vaccinations (eligible adults)
✔️ Private Flu Vaccinations (for anyone who wants extra protection)
✔️ Children’s Flu Nasal Spray (ages 2–3 years)
✔️ COVID-19 Winter Boosters for those who are:
• Aged 75 or over (or turning 75 by January 2026)
• Immunocompromised
• Live in a care home for older adults

With winter illnesses circulating and Christmas approaching, now is the perfect time to get protected.

Please start ordering your repeat prescriptions 7 days before you run out. We get very busy in December, and with Christmas Day and Boxing Day closed (plus the weekend), there will be 4 days in a row when we are not open. Ordering early helps make sure you don’t run out of medication.

Today, we will not be able to hand out any prescriptions or sell any P medication between 14:00-15:00, as we have had to close the pharmacy temporarily.

We apologise for any inconvenience. Normal trading will start at 15:00.

Today, we will not be able to hand out any prescriptions after 5pm or sell any P medication, as no pharmacist will be available on site.

If you need to collect your medication, please:
✅ Visit us before 5pm, or
✅ Call us to sign up for PharmaBox24 to collect your medicines securely outside our opening hours (exclusions apply).

If you are unable to collect before 5pm and do not wish to use PharmaBox24, please call the pharmacy and we can return your prescription to the NHS Spine, allowing you to collect it from another pharmacy.
