🤧 Winter Bugs Going Around? Your Pharmacist Can Help

Do you have any of these symptoms?

Acute sore throat
• Pain or difficulty swallowing
• Red or inflamed throat
• Fever or feeling unwell
• Symptoms lasting up to 7 days

Sinusitis
• Facial pain or pressure around the cheeks, eyes or forehead
• Blocked or runny nose
• Headache or toothache
• Symptoms lasting up to 10 days

If so, you may not need a GP appointment. Under the NHS Pharmacy First service, our pharmacist can assess you and, if appropriate, provide treatment including prescription medicines.

We can also help with other Pharmacy First conditions, including:
• Ear infections (children)
• Urinary tract infections (women)
• Infected insect bites
• Shingles
• Impetigo

⏰ Please Order Your Prescriptions on Time

We’d like to remind our patients to order repeat prescriptions at least 7 days before you run out.

We will be closed from Thursday to Sunday next week, and we are currently extremely busy with:
• High prescription volumes
• NHS and private services
• Increased flu vaccination appointments

Ordering early gives your GP surgery and pharmacy enough time to process prescriptions and order items in.

🎄 Important Christmas Reminder
If you would like to receive your medications before Christmas, the last day to order your prescription is TODAY. Please do not leave it too late, as we may not be able to process late requests in time.

Please start ordering your repeat prescriptions 7 days before you run out. We get very busy in December, and with Christmas Day and Boxing Day closed (plus the weekend), there will be 4 days in a row when we are not open. Ordering early helps make sure you don’t run out of medication.

If you need to collect your medication, please:
✅ Visit us before 5pm, or
✅ Call us to sign up for PharmaBox24 to collect your medicines securely outside our opening hours (exclusions apply).

If you are unable to collect before 5pm and do not wish to use PharmaBox24, please call the pharmacy and we can return your prescription to the NHS Spine, allowing you to collect it from another pharmacy.

That’s why we now offer PharmaBox24, a secure 24/7 prescription collection service at Minerva Clinical Services.

Perfect if you:
✔️ Work shifts
✔️ Have a busy schedule
✔️ Can’t get to us during opening hours

How it works:
🔐 We place your medication in the PharmaBox24
🔑 You receive a unique collection code via email
⏳ You have 3 days to pick up your medication at any time, day or night

Important:
🚫 We cannot place fridge items or controlled drugs (under safe custody) in the PharmaBox24.

🛡️ Flu Vaccine Available - Walk-in & by Appointment - at Minerva Clinical Services

We’re pleased to offer NHS flu vaccinations at our pharmacy:
• Adults (18 years and over) - walk in or book your flu jab
• Children aged 2–3 years (nasal spray) - now for the first time included in pharmacies as part of the 2025/26 programme

We are also offering private flu vaccinations at £20 for those who are not eligible for a free one.

We prefer you to book ahead so that we can avoid clashes with other clinics and minimise waiting times. You can:
