📅Schedule an asthma review – every year and after every attack
💨Consider air quality and its impact on lung health

🩺 BMG Patients! Why wait in line? Check in up to 30 minutes before your appointment using our check-in screens! 📲
All our check in machines have now been upgraded and are ready for action.
🏥 You will be asked 5 questions:
1️⃣Your preferred language
2️⃣Your day of birth
3️⃣Your month of birth
4️⃣The first letter of your surname(this part is new and people often put their first letter of their first name)
5️⃣Last question promise, are all your details correct? If not we really need these up to date details, so you will be directed back to reception.

📲Got a smartphone?
Why not use the QR codes for mobile check in, look out for all the posters in all of our entrances for even faster check-ins (available at most sites; sorry, no mobile signal at Heysham).
If you are 5 minutes or more late for your appointment, you wont be able to use the check in screens and you will be directed back to reception.
Please note the clinician may not be able to see you and you will need to rebook your appointment if you are late.
Let’s get these queues busted at our receptions!
🌈💙

🌟 New Feature Alert! 🌟
BMG patients, we’ve added something new to our online form to make it even easier for you to get the right care, at the right time when you next submit an online appointment request🙌💻
💡 Introducing Accurx Navigator!
This smart new feature helps you access a range of care options when you’re seeking help — not just a GP appointment. It offers trusted information and points you towards services that might be able to help you straight away, such as:

💊 Local pharmacies
🧠 Mental health support & talking therapies
📞 Self-referral services
✅ NHS.uk advice pages
The goal is simple — to make sure you get the help you need quickly, while allowing our GPs to focus on patients who really need to be seen 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️
For instance if you have:
Cough
Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)
Sore throat
Back pain
Mental health problem
Sprain, strain or other minor injury
Impetigo
Shingles
Infected insect bite
Earache
Sinus infection (sinusitis)
Hay fever #
We can signpost straight to your local pharmacy who will be able to prescribe or suggest an over-the-counter medication. If you qualify for free prescriptions this service will still apply to the Pharmacy First route.

🧭 When you use our Patient Triage form, Accurx Navigator may suggest these self-care or referral options based on your health problem.
But don’t worry — you’ll always have the option to contact your GP practice if that’s what you prefer ❤️
We’re excited about this step forward in making healthcare more accessible and efficient for everyone 🌈
👉 Try it next time you use our online form and see how easy it is to find the right support for you!

📱✨ Exciting News from Bay Medical Group! ✨📱

We’re always looking for ways to make communication with our patients easier, faster, and safer — and we’re thrilled to announce a new way we’ll be sending messages! 🎉

🗓 From 24th November 2025, we’ll be introducing Rich Communication Service (RCS) messages — a smarter, more secure way for us to keep in touch.

So what are RCS and what’s changing 👇
💬 Until now, we’ve sent messages as standard texts (SMS).
🔄 Soon, messages will go through the NHS App first, then try RCS, and finally fall back to SMS if needed.
✅ This means you’ll always get our messages — one way or another!

🌟 Why this is great news for our patients:
🔹 You’ll know it’s really from us — our name and logo will appear on messages.
🔹 Our contact details (phone, email, address) will be right there in the message.
🔹 It’s more secure — messages are encrypted to protect your privacy.

📲 Do you need to do anything?
Most modern smartphones (Android 📱 or iPhone 🍏) already support RCS — although you may need to enable it! 🙌
If your phone doesn’t support it, don’t worry — you’ll still get our texts the usual way.
🔐 Your privacy matters
All messages are encrypted and follow strict UK privacy laws (including GDPR). 🛡

🚗💭 Thinking About Giving Up Driving? Here's What You Need to Know 👇

BMG patients, we know that deciding to stop driving can be a big step – it’s emotional, and it can feel like a loss of independence. But for some, it might be the safest and most sensible choice. ❤️

🔍 Ask yourself: • Do you feel more anxious behind the wheel? 😟
• Have you gotten lost on familiar roads? 🗺️
• Are your reactions slower than they used to be? 🐢
• Have friends or family expressed concern? 🚦
• Has your eyesight or health changed? 👓❤️

If you’re saying "yes" to a few of these, it might be time to rethink driving.

🛑 Continuing to drive when it’s no longer safe could put you and others at serious risk. Accidents linked to health or fitness to drive can lead to prosecution, loss of insurance — or far worse. 🙏

🚘 Still unsure?
You can take a friendly driving assessment with trusted organisations like:
🔹 drivingmobility.org.uk
🔹 iamroadsmart.com/guidance-for-older-drivers

📉 And let’s be real — if you’re doing under 2,000 miles a year, it might even save you money to explore other ways of getting around! 💸🚌🚕🚶

💡 There are lots of options to stay mobile and independent – you're not giving up freedom, just gaining peace of mind.

BMG patients, can we count on you to make the right choice.
Yes we know demand for appointments is at an all time high, but we are doing are very best to see everyone who needs to be seen.
Some of the most common ailments and conditions can be treated by over the counter medications and advice from your local pharmacy.
If you have a cough or a cold , please consider visiting your local pharmacy first.
Pressures at A&E across Lancashire and South Cumbria have led to very long waits in emergency departments and for ambulances.

Only go to A&E if your condition is an emergency or is life-threatening.

🌟 The Miracle Cure That’s 100% FREE! 🌟
BMG patients, have you heard about the miracle cure that can lower your risk of early death by 30%, has few side effects and is completely free? 🤔💡
🏃‍♂️ Exercise & Physical Activity! 🏋️‍♀️
Regular movement can help lower your risk of:
✔️ Heart disease & stroke ❤️
✔️ Type 2 diabetes 🍏
✔️ Bowel & breast cancer 🎗️
✔️ Osteoarthritis & hip fractures 🦴
✔️ Falls in older adults 👵
✔️ Depression & anxiety 🧠
✔️ Dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease 🧩
💬 It has been said by a GP that “If I could only prescribe one thing, it would be exercise.”
📢 Latest Research:
📰 The British Journal of Sports Medicine (2023) & BMJ (2024) confirm that physical activity is a key treatment for depression, anxiety, and psychological distress—helping people with mental health conditions, chronic illness, and the general population.
🚀 How much exercise is enough?
🏃 150 minutes per week of any movement is great!
📉 Avoid sitting too much—even small movement breaks make a difference.
⚡ Moderate intensity is best—if you can talk but not sing, you’re on the right track!
So, let’s get moving! Your body and mind will thank you. 💙💪
