🎉 BMG patients, meet Bob – 76 years young 🎉

Bob popped into the weekly IT Clinic we have at Morecambe Health Centre as he noticed the NHS App had changed . He quickly went onto tell us how fab it is. He noticed the change and just navigated his way around the new look, inquisitively and with ease. He thinks its a major improvement, as its even easier to use now.
He went onto say, he also uses his phone to connect to other health digital apps to help with his ongoing medical issues and to connect his hearing aids to when he gets a phone call. Go Bob!!

Bob proves that age is just a number 🧓💻 and certainly not a barrier when it comes to using digital tools to stay connected with his healthcare. 🙌💙

BMG will be closed today Good Friday 3rd April 2026 for the Easter Holidays.
If you are unwell and we are closed and you need medical attention, that self care can not help with, then you need to ring 111.
is much more than a helpline, it can:
📞 give you self-care advice
📞 connect you to a nurse, emergency dentist or GP
📞 book you a face-to-face appointment
📞 direct you to the local service that can help you best with your concern
📞 send an ambulance directly, if necessary
The NHS 111 service is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by a team of fully trained advisers.

All our check in machines have now been upgraded and are ready for action, with the following 4 new questions.
1️⃣Your day of birth
2️⃣Your month of birth
3️⃣Your year of birth
4️⃣Last question promise, are all your details correct? If not we really need these up to date details, so you will be directed back to reception.
If you are late:
If you are 5 minutes or more late for your appointment, you wont be able to use the check in screens and you will be directed back to reception.
Please note the clinician may not be able to see you and you will need to rebook your appointment if you are late.

📲Got a smartphone?
Why not use the QR codes for mobile check in, look out for all the posters in all of our entrances for even faster check-ins (available at most sites; sorry, no mobile signal at Heysham).

BMG patients, the NHS App is getting a fresh new look! 👀
The update is expected to roll out late March into early April, so you may notice some changes soon when your app updates 📆

🔄 What’s changing?
💡 A more simple and modern design
🔍 Easier to find what you need quickly
♿ Improved accessibility for all users
📲 Smoother navigation with less duplication

These improvements are based on feedback from over 1,000 users to make the app more intuitive and user-friendly ()

🆕 New features include:
🆘 A handy “App help” button for quick support
👤 A clearer profile area to manage your details, settings & health choices
👨‍👩‍👧 The ability to manage services for others (like family members) ()

You can still:

BMG patients, it’s that time of year again when mini eggs are lining the supermarket shelves.
But, did you know that they are the perfect size to block a small child’s airway and choke them? And, their hard shell can make it difficult to dislodge with standard first aid techniques.

That’s why they aren’t recommended for children under 4.

So, when you’re stocking up for the Easter Bunny please stay safe and choose another treat for your little one.
