Morning pals!!!

It’s that time of year! Circles were sporadic this year but I’m back with Yule and I’m hoping to run them at each of the sabbats! So every six weeks.

Come join us for nourishing sharing, intention setting and a proper reminder about what this time of year means. Really means. It’s a break from the usual hubbub and a chance to adjust your nervous system.

Great things happen when women sit together. When we share and when we learn from each other.

Hurrah! It’s done. The service is open. We are taking referrals.

To say this has been a labour of love is an understatement and it’s only just at the very start of its official journey. Would be super sound if you could share this, any and everywhere your hearts desire.

Couldn’t have done this part without my other half and the trustees who basically stepped up every single time we asked, without question. held our hands at every junction, and her wisdom and her knowledge of what we wanted to do has been INVALUABLE. That the training we are able to offer volunteers! deserve all the love for welcoming conversations with us with open arms and offering their help and support!!!

Beyond humbled at all the work everyone has put in to get us here. So charity started, ready to go. The links to refer and to volunteer are in the bio! So if you were so inclined to attend a birth then you know what to do!!!

Suppose now is as good a time as any to announce our lovely news. is something we’ve been busy working on for the last year. In January this year we were lucky enough to run the training fully funded in Aberdeen……..and in November this year its hitting Tayside!!!

So if you were thinking about training as a birth worker or you wanted to attend a birth come along on Thursday and have a chat with us!

The training will be delivered by the wonderful and it’s second to none.

VERY excited to be rolling out this as Grampian and Tayside Birth Partners starts to take shape and move forward as a charity! Looking forward to launching the service and the next lovely steps!

I want to announce that I’m leaving Doula UK.

But I was never part of that world. It’s never aligned with me. I was never really clear on why we needed that directory.

And I think that if are to be truly honest with ourselves, it is radical that we allowed ourselves to be governed by a directory in the first place.

At its bare bones, that’s all it is. A bunch of dusty assed women making decisions about who can or can’t sit with them, based on their religion, or the colour of their skin or the gender they identify as.

No thanks.

You cannot just support SOME women. You cannot just care about SOME of them. You cannot just be outraged about SOME of the birthers treatment.

Support all or none. You are quite simply dangerous if you don’t. It’s that fu***ng simple.

Part birth worker part potions master. I’ll use these to top up my own stash of foraged things. Herbs in the postpartum make my heart sing. I’ve been really loving Yarrow, rose and chamomile for myself, especially in the run up to my bleed.

Did you use herbs in birth and postnatally? What were your go to ones?

We don’t always need to be foot to the floor, bashing things out. We sometimes need to sit still and wait.

Mind now, if you can accept that life isn’t linear, that healing isn’t linear, then you can accept that birth and pregnancy isn’t either.

Never have. Never will.

The issues are in the public domain. We see the reports, the stories, where the money is spent.

We are not being cared for. And that’s sh*te.

We know the NHS saves lives. And births. But actually it also outdoes itself when it comes to causing issues too.

No one is going to guide you like they should or like they used to. That is fact. That’s is across the board.

It is up to you to make sure you are safe and that you are heard. Don’t rest on this. Do the thing. Follow the people, listen to the podcasts, employ the doulas, give back to the charities stepping in or being created to pick up the slack, and learn how to say no thank you to things.

I don’t f**k about when I speak about birth. And I don’t think you should either.

Hiya pals! It’s been a while. I am very much still here. But it’s the school holidays, and we FINALLY got to move home and basically I’ve just been hiding.

Got some VERY exciting news coming over the next few days, and I promise I’ll fill you all in on the months off. But if ever you were hoping to attend a birth, here’s the place to be. Especially if you have a Dundee postcode pals!

And aye, I am THAT kind of maw. I’ve not got a fu***ng clue what Fraser has to do on the 18th at 3pm but that post it has been on the fridge all summer. Last minute figuring it out as per.
