Gotta shake out that stagnant energy…

Since I was a little girl, I’ve always been a “sensitive soul” I feel pain, guilt and loss deeply, but that means I also feel love, joy and happiness just as deeply. I cry every day, happy tears and sad, I get easily overwhelmed snd easily overjoyed, and I’m so grateful that I do. I want to feel it all. I want to live the full human experience, good and bad. This one is for my fellow sensitive souls ❤️

This one stuck with me…

Because when we move, stretch, flow, shake, and breathe we shift our energy. Anxiety feeds on stagnation. It feeds on still thoughts looping, the body freezing, breath getting shallow. Movement interrupts that cycle. It gives your mind somewhere new to land, your breath somewhere new to go, and your body a way to release what it’s been holding. When you move, you remind your nervous system that you’re not stuck… and when you’re not stuck, anxiety struggles to stay attached.

At the start of my yoga journey, before I really understood what yoga was, I made many mistakes that I grew and learnt from. It’s all part of the process… 🧘‍♀️

1. Skipping Savasana because I was “too busy”

I’d follow along online classes and turn it off right before Savasana, not realising it’s the most important part.

2. Treating yoga like a workout instead of a practice

Chasing sweat, not stillness. Forgetting it’s nervous system work too.

3. Showing up with a perfection mindset

Thinking there was a right or wrong way to be on the mat and overthinking alignment over feeling.

4. Ignoring my breath

Following the moves without connecting to the actual anchor of the practice.

5. Only practicing when life felt good

Not realising yoga is often the thing that holds you through the hard seasons.

A year ago I was about to graduate my yoga teacher training. I had no idea where it was going to take me, but it was ended up being the best decision I could’ve made. What a beautiful year. Grateful always. 🤍
