Larimar or Hemimorphite… can you tell the diference? 🤔 The pictures below show two images of Larimar and two of Hemimorphite… which is which?

Lately I’ve been seeing people sell
‘Larimar’ in various forms which unbeknown to their customers (and probably the seller too) is not in fact Larimar!
As a crystal seller myself, I see it fit to educate myself as much as possible re crystals, I too may get it wrong and will always hold my hands up if I do and also question everything including labels given to crystals from suppliers as they too can be mistaken!

What I’ve been seeing on the market lately is in fact Hemimorphite a.k.a ‘Chinese Larimar’.

Larimar is a rare blue variety of Pectolite found only in the Dominican Republic, whilst Hemimorphite is a zinc silicate mineral found in various parts of the world. Though both can show blue tones, their mineral composition, crystal structure, and geographic sources are completely different.
One of the countries Hemimorphite comes from is China and therefore this is why I believe we are seeing more ‘Chinese Larimar’ on the market.
So just something to bear in mind. 🤔

Just thought I’d introduce Loki 🐾 As many of you know I’m involved in dog rescue and helping to run ELI for Animals. Already having 7 dogs in my care, I wasn’t in any way, shape or form planning on another arrival so soon! 😅 But as a senior boy Loki found himself needing a home and he came to me this week via a friends family member who couldn’t keep him anymore. He has slotted in with the rest of the gang very well. As a qualified behaviourist, animal healer and communicator, this has obviously helped the process and will continue to help him with his separation anxiety. You may well one day meet him at one of my events! 😊💎
