Loving this view on our walk from Hope to Castleton yesterday. We took the top path, over the hills and far away from the burgeoning crowds below.

Stopped in to see our favourite cafe folk in the valley, at the wonderfully welcoming first.

Coffeed and fed, we were totally ready for this hike, only to be cut short by a sprained ankle! Darn those crags 🤷🏽‍♀️

There was only one thing for it. Head home, put the feet up and eat cake 🍰😋

All brightly coloured fruit and vegetables contain antioxidants but many purple foods contain an antioxidant called anthocyanin.

Anthocyanins are found in high concentrations in blackcurrants, blackberries and blueberries, as well as in aubergine (in the skin), red cabbage, cranberries and cherries.

All darker fruits and vegetables contain this health boosting antioxident though so get chomping 😋

Eat organic and in season whenever you can 🍇🍆

Move beyond “good foods” and “bad foods”. Instead, ask: Does this food add value to my body? Does it nourish me and benefit me?

Observe how YOU feel after eating any given food. Do you feel invigorated or drained? Satisfied or still ravenous? Full of long-lasting energy or flagging quickly? Lean and light or heavy and sluggish? Gather data and make the essential changes required for your improved wellbeing.

WE'RE SO SORRY!

We haven't abandoned you and we are so grateful that we're connected with you on here.

We've been taking some time out to focus on our girl and rebalance ourselves.

You see, we gave so much to our clients and online tribe during all those lockdowns, we felt a bit drained and lost by the time we all got released!

Throw in the usual challenges of life, a back injury and our dog getting diagnosed with incurable meningitis... it all took a toll.

We're still here though, we're just trying to find a new 'HEALTHY BALANCE' in this next chapter of life.

Thank you to all our wonderful clients (online and in person), thank you to all our followers, and a special thank you to those of you who have messaged us asking if we're OK!

FEED YOUR IMMUNITY 🥦💗

Poor gut health is linked to obesity, diabetes, arthritis, and digestive issues such as IBS.

However, it’s mostly linked to your immunity and the strength of it to ward off viruses and illness...

Here are some quick tips to help your body to strengthen your immunity.

Eat more fibre - foods such as fruit, vegetables, grains and legumes (wholesome carbs)

Overconsumption of sugar, meat, alcohol, caffeine and processed foods destroys that boosting effect!

Eat more polyphenols - fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, berries, olive oil and tea, coffee and wine - the last 3 need to be in limited quantities!

Mini fasts (not constantly snacking/eating throughout the day) and circadian fasting both work to help boost your healthy gut bacteria because they lessen the workload on them.

Avoid artificial sweeteners in foods such as sugar-free or reduced sugar because they can help kill off your good bacteria too!

FINALLY... THIS 👉🏼 Worth bearing in mind, alcohol is the main ingredient in most antibacterial products, the reason for this is it kills bacteria and viruses better than most things on the planet… awesome for preventing illness but also comes with a mega downside, it also kills the good bacteria in your gut ❗

If you want to know how to stop snacking on those harmful to your health and immunity foods/drinks... throw them away or VASTLY limit your access to them because you value your immunity and health more!

STAY HYDRATED 🧊 & STAY 😎

65 percent of your body is water, so water is essential to your survival.

Water flows through the blood, carrying oxygen and nutrients to cells and flushes waste out of your body. It cushions your joints and soft tissue.

Without water as a routine part of your daily intake, you cannot digest or absorb the nutrients in food properly and your cells bloat in panic (water retention) making you look and feel bloated. Nice!

Aim for 2 to 3 litres a day, every single day and it's especially important when you're active and it's hot 🔥🥵
