This year's service will be held on Wednesday 17th December at 6.00pm. The service will be led once again by Revd Jack Branford and local celebrant Stuart Kenrick. We hope that all who attend find the service comforting as well as uplifting as we remember those not with us at Christmas. Complimentary refreshments will be served after the service. 🔦This week's celebrant spotlight falls on the lovely Sharon Wood. Always a pleasure to work with Sharon.🔦

Since 2016 I have been an innovative Independent Celebrant here in Norfolk, crafting meaningful ceremonies and celebrations of life. I always enjoy working with the supportive professional team at St Faiths.
I worked as a dedicated registered nurse for some 30 years. Having come to know profound grief in my own life, I was inspired to pursue a new career supporting the bereaved. My passion for creative writing led me to working alongside families and individuals to prepare and deliver thoughtful and person-centred goodbyes.
I’m often told I am known for my warmth, friendliness, and empathic listening skills. Learning about people’s lives is a privilege, and I strive to tell these stories with authenticity and attention to detail. I meticulously craft ceremony scripts that are cherished and remembered, ensuring each ceremony feels deeply personal. As a progressive celebrant, I embrace new ideas and approaches to farewell ceremonies.
Born and raised in Norwich, I spent several years living in London and overseas before returning to this beautiful county. Life outside my work is always lively, filled with the demands and joys of family, a house full of pets, and my enthusiasm for film and theatre. I also lead a weekly Grief Café in Mundesley, supporting those experiencing loss, and run a small memorial jewellery business from my home on the North Norfolk coast'.

🔦 This week's Celebrant Spotlight falls on the lovely Rachel Narkiewicz. We love working with Rachel who looks after all of her families beautifully. 🔦

I have lived in the beautiful county of Norfolk since 1994 when I moved from the Black Country – a place that is still close to my heart. I spent much of my working life in the NHS, supporting people with health challenges of many types. This fulfilled my love of getting to know people's stories. My many years of talking with people has shown me that there is no such thing as an “ordinary life”; each life is unique. Having the opportunity to hear a person’s story and to tell it with compassion, honesty and warmth is always my aim.
I was delighted to discover Humanism after years of reluctantly referring to myself as an atheist. Humanism is a belief rather than a non-belief. It allows me the responsibility for living my one life in the best way that I can for myself and for the wider world. Once I had “realised” that I was a Humanist, I trained to become a funeral celebrant with Humanists UK in 2016.
My aim is to create a personalised funeral or memorial ceremony that reflects who the person was so that the people present will recognise them. We can work together to choose non-religious music, readings, and poetry that are meaningful, sincere, and an authentic representation of the person who has died. I can be the person to write and deliver the whole ceremony or the person that co-ordinates the event - whatever works for you.

🥀Did you know that if your loved one was cremated with us at St Faiths Crematorium, we will scatter the ashes free of charge in our Gardens? 🥀

If you choose to scatter the ashes yourself in a public place, please do keep in mind that permission must be obtained from the landowner. This includes beaches and coastal areas. Link to an interesting BBC article below. Please also consider that if you do decide to lay your loved one to rest with us, a record of their resting place will be kept for future generations. If you have any questions, do give us a ring on 01603 897727 and our friendly team will help.

Some hillwalkers are concerned they are coming across piles of ashes during treks in wild areas of Scotland.
