Struggling with grief for longer than a year? Are your feelings remaining intense and impacting your day-to-day life? It might be complicated grief. 🌀
These are some typical signs ⬇️
• Feeling stuck in intense pain, anger, guilt, loneliness or sadness.
• Constantly yearning for the person who died.
• Thinking about them brings overwhelming emotions.
• Flashbacks or replaying difficult moments.
• Avoiding reminders — or thinking about them nonstop.
• Being hard on yourself or feeling “not good enough.”
• Withdrawing from work, hobbies, or people.
• Not taking care of your own health or daily needs.
• Feeling like life isn’t worth living without them.
• Suicidal thoughts or plans.
You may be more at risk if ⬇️
• You were very close or caring for them.
• The relationship was complicated.
• You’ve experienced depression, anxiety, bipolar, or PTSD.
• You’ve had other big losses or tough life experiences.
• You feel unsupported by friends or family.
• Their death was sudden, traumatic, or hard to accept.
