⚽️⚽️ Double Match Report incoming… ⚽️⚽️

The last two week have seen the boys take part in high quality end to end football matches against tough opponents that have both ended in tight results.

🟢 First up, a week gone Saturday against Pass Soccer, a late goal conceded after not being as clinical in front of goal as we like to be, saw us get beat by 1 goal. A bit of a thriller that saw us score 4 goals but on another day we could’ve scored 12… just one of those days at the New Ferens Office ⚽️🏢

🔥Well done to Evan on his man of the match performance; he was a constant threat, putting a lot of pressure on their defender, showing his strength when tackling and carrying the ball, also showing great decisions on the ball.

🔴 Second up, on Saturday morning we faced a high flying Hebburn side who were well organised, physical and gave us a great game. Unfortunately it was another frustrating game for us as we lead for the majority of the game, only to concede from a corner in the last 10 seconds before the ref blew his whistle to end as a 3-3 stalemate. Great lesson and development for the lads again though. So important to stay switched on at all times at this level but that’s football…

🔥Well done Zach on his man of the match performance; he played two positions, at the back and on the wing really well, showed great touches under pressure, composure on the ball and moved the ball really well. Unreal strength simialr to Bryan Brobbey at one point too! 💪

We are back at it a week on Saturday as we have a free week on Valentine’s Day but the boys will be no doubt going at it with each other at Teddy’s football party Saturday afternoon 🎂

3️⃣ Triple Match Report… ⚽️

Apologies for the lack of reporting over the last 7 days… it’s been a busy period for the Herra boys! 🙌

🗓️ Last Saturday saw us taste defeat for the first time in almost 6 months with a tough game against a very talented and well organised Chester-Le Street United Blacks who had their full side involved in top academies throughout the North East. We gave them a fantastic game and went in at half time in the lead having scored 3 quality team goals. Unfortunately some small mistakes that were very unlike us, lead to them to beat us by 3 goals. However we did grab a couple more in the second half to ensure the game remained tight - the referee stating it was the best game he’d seen in the Prem so far this year! 🔥

Our gaffer Scott had the following to say after the game, “We all thought the boys did brilliantly today; very proud of them all.

They competed against 3 Newcastle academy players and the rest were at Sunderland; most of those players will be training every night!

The work rate and constant battling from the boys was excellent; they should be happy with themselves.

Well done Teddy on his man of the match performance; he worked hard to support both in attack and defence, got stuck in and showed great composure for his two goals”👌💥

🗓️ Monday night saw us travel to Newcastle United Academy for a games night against hybrid U7/U8 teams and the lads had a great time. The standard was very high and whilst it was a tough night, the experience and learning will hold them all in good stead for the future and their development! 💚

🗓️ Today saw us back in action in the early kick off slot at New Ferens Park hoping to get back to winning ways against Coxhoe United. We started really brightly and moved the ball really well, nipping in front early and never falling behind despite conceding either side of half time.

The gaffer’s report - “Brilliant from the boys today. A very strong performance. We thought the lads worked hard, pressed well and moved the ball well.

Well done Harry on his man of the match performance; he looked comfortable in all the positions he played today (which is a lot to ask of a 7 year old), his passing and work rate was superb but what stood out the most was his decision making on the ball; knowing when to pass the ball or take a touch into space or have a shot on goal - great stuff” 👌💥

So while results aren’t the best all and end all, that’s 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat in the top prem division so far for us 🙌💚♥️🖤⚽️

Herra boys back with a bang 💥💚

This morning saw our little grafters back after the winter break playing again strong Seaburn side that we played in our grading league division.

The conditions were horrendous, temperatures were freezing and the snow started to fall almost immediately after kick off ❄️ we were slow out of the blocks and after going unbeaten since last summer, we found ourselves in unfamiliar territory at 0-3 down.

A brilliant team performance, packed full of hard work ethic, playing some great passing, fluid football, scoring some brilliant team and individual goals, saw us get right back into the game.

We had to battle hard against a very good technical side with physical players, but battling is what we doz we are starting to show some real good composure on the ball and our passing game is coming on really well. It was great football to watch, and exciting game and it was a combination that saw us score 7 goals and maintain our unbeaten run.

Well done Jimmy on his man of the match performance; he held his position so well, was aggressive with the press/tracking back and got two deserved goals because of it.

Good luck to our little grafters as they start their first session after grading in the top division of the RFYL. Some really good tests ahead of us that will no doubt challenge and stretch the class, but we’ve no doubt they’ll always work extremely hard and enjoy every second!

🏆 League Champs Update 🏆

So after our post season celebrations have died down, the open top bus tour concluded and pre season training has resumed, we wanted to do a quick update to say how proud we are of the boys! 💚🖤♥️

Always enjoying their football, we remained unbeaten scoring many goals and conceding few while playing football with big smiles on their faces during the RFYL grading leagues.

We were delighted to be crowned league winners and we are very very proud of how the grafters are developing their game!

After being placed in the top prem division of the Under 7 league starting in a couple of weeks time, we know we have lots of hard work ahead of us and we’ll continue to develop and enjoy our footy.

So here it is…. Last game of the season tomorrow at Under 7 playing our own age group again! ♥️

We’ve had a great time and enjoyed our footy. Last week saw us play in terrible conditions - Icy cold, wet and windy! 🥶 ☔️ 💨

It took the opposition to score to get our boys into gear, only our 8th goal we’ve conceded this time out. Again, we thought the passing at times was brilliant, moving the ball into right areas at the right times, it’s great to see what the lads are learning in training being put into practice.

Well done Lewis on his man of the match performance; got into some good areas when attacking and starting to really pick the right passes out too 🏆

Not long to go in the under 7 grading season but we remain unbeaten scoring another 9 goals yesterday💥

Some tremendous football played by the lads yesterday morning, it really looked like they were always trying to do the right thing on the ball which is a joy to see. Our passing, defending and support play was superb to watch!

Well done Jimmy on his man of the match performance, had a spell in goal and he done his job on the left hand side, worked up and down and showed good touches and awareness on the ball.

Unfortunately no friendly game this morning due to availability and illness - so back to it next week ❤️💚🖤⚽️

Great game and challenge this morning for the boys 💥

We had to move the ball quick because they were getting swarmed by the opposition players; when we did we created space and chances quickly.

Well done Eben on his man of the match performance; he always seemed to get back and get in the way during their attacks and showed real composure on the ball when playing from the back.

A clean sheet in each half for our keepers to help Eben at the back.

Another early kick off at the New Ferens Nou Camp for our little stars yesterday morning ⚽️ 🌅

Great work again from the boys! We really tried to move the ball well, use the defender to help switch the play and got their heads up in certain parts of the game which is all we can ask for. It’s not easy when there are many players loaded on the opposition as space is limited, but the lads did us all proud implanting what they have been learning in training.

Well done Teddy on his man of the match performance, got stuck in, moved the ball into great areas and bagged himself his first hat-trick 🙌

The grafters... 💚🖤 Back at it in the league on Saturday after a free week and then a no show the week before…

The boys were class on Saturday again, all of them worked so hard in terrible conditions, wind was fierce. It was great to see them getting their heads up and picking/making passes at the right time.

Well done Harry on his player of the match performance. He pulled off some great saves, showed good composure on the ball (in and out of goal) and made some great passes.

So far we’ve scored 31 goals in 3 league games and conceded 3, keep working hard boys!

Back at it today… 💥

The new RFYL started today for us again at New Ferens Park, this time playing Under 7s at our own age group.

This little battlers paid us proud again as always! Player of the match was Eben who helped contribute our our clean sheet, moved the ball really well and made some great tackles at the back.

Another day, another game… ⚽️

Our little ballers, fresh off the back of their tournament victory yesterday played a friendly tonight at Ford Hub. After successful back to back promotions playing a year up since Xmas, we decided we want to keep our eye on against bigger more physio opponents playing a year up against under 8s in friendlies where we can.

Tonight, was our first outing and the boys again did us all proud. The way they’re starting to gel and move the ball around as a team is a real joy to watch 😍😍😍 Some of the one/two passing, runs off the ball, head up playing teammates into space and clinical finishing was great to see! Even better than we were yesterday! 🙌

We tried out new positions and swapped keepers around tonight too and came away with another victory scoring 6 goals in the process!
