This is my ceremony bingo card for 2026. A small, orderly collection of hopes for the year ahead.

Some (half) of them already on the cards - because plans are nice to tick off too.

๐ŸŒฟ A new outdoor venue discovered
โ™ฅ๏ธ More micro weddings, less pressure - 1 on the cards, so far
โ„๏ธ A winter wedding, full of wonder
โ›ฒ๏ธ A ceremony in a museum garden - on the cards

(will probably add even more)

Because the best ceremonies feel intentional, human, and a little magical.

If one of these squares sounds like you, we should probably talk.

What dreams are made of ... This is the best review to close 2025 with - showing what a celebrant ceremony can really offer. Probably my top ceremony bucket list item ticked off ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Full review:
"From the moment we met Gitte Monis at the Quirky Wedding Fayre at Herons Farm in Reading, we knew she was exactly the right person to be part of our special. There was an immediate sense of warmth, ease, and genuine connection that made us feel completely at home with her.
On 7 May 2025, in the incredible setting of St Nectanโ€™s Glen in Trethevy, Cornwall, Gitte performed our Handfasting and Sword Jumping ceremonies at the base of the gorgeous 60ft waterfall. Surrounded by nature and the sound of the water, the ceremonies felt powerful, meaningful, and deeply personal โ€” truly reflecting who we are and what we wanted our day to be.
Gitte took the time to really get to know us and our story, both through a Zoom meeting and a personal face-to-face visit at our home. She listened with such care and attention, and that understanding was beautifully woven into the bespoke ceremony she created for us. Many of our guests commented on how special, heartfelt, and unique the ceremony felt.
Her presence added an extra sense of warmth and continuity to the day and made everything feel even more connected.
Despite the constant roar of the waterfall, Gitte ensured she could be heard clearly and that everything flowed smoothly and calmly, which was incredibly reassuring. Her professionalism, confidence, and gentle presence allowed us to fully relax and be present in our moment.
After our honeymoon, Gitte surprised us with a beautiful gift box containing our bespoke wedding script, written especially for us. It was such a thoughtful touch and a keepsake we will treasure forever.
We cannot recommend Gitte highly enough. She brought heart, care, and authenticity to every part of the process and helped create a wedding day that was meaningful, unforgettable, and truly ours.
Genuinely, thank you so much for everything you did to make our special day so magical."

Donโ€™t just โ€˜tick the ceremony boxโ€™. Thrive.
Let it be your time to flourish and show off the peak of your love story. Let it take centre stage and thrive.

Allow yourself a ceremony where you feel held, seen, safe and celebrated. Where your love isnโ€™t edited for tradition. Where joy is allowed to be loud, tender, silly, ethical, outrageous, soft or all of the above.

This is what thriving in your wedding ceremony can look like:๏ฟฝstanding exactly as you are,๏ฟฝwith your people,๏ฟฝbeginning married life feeling more you than ever.

Thriving was exactly what Holly and Harry did at their gorgeous, funny and cool wedding at .

Iโ€™m as analogue as they come. Now, what does that mean?

It means that every ceremony script and your love story are written by this analogue human, from the heart, and without AI.

And, with my natural voice as my instrument, I very often lead ceremonies without a microphone in natural ceremony settings (and inside venues). that doesn't mean I won't use a mic... I'll always focus on bringing the magic and warmth, no matter the set up.

The hardest part... It's not the public speaking, the hours and days of writing, the travel, the deep talks or "being on 100%". Those are the easiest parts.

It's this. Social media will be the death of me and while I can find fun with it, I'm obviously neither good at it, nor consistent. So, thank you for another year of to keep me going ๐Ÿ˜€

I took this video in the waterfall at Tintagel in Cornwall, where Joshua, Lucy, 20 family and friends and 2 dogs + me and a photographer celebrated their marriage with their love story (projected over the sound of the waterfall), a handfasting and jumping the sword - specially made for mediavel historian, Joshua.

This is a story about friends at weddings.

Short version:
Strong winds, strong friends.

Longer version:
On maybe the hottest day of the year in 2022, we were blessed with wind at K&Kโ€™s wedding at The Secret Garden in Kemptown, Brighton. The parasol was not prepared. But their strong-man-friend was and he jumped to the rescue, raised the parasol and planted himself on it for the rest of the ceremony saving the Flash Mob choir of more amazing friends. The choir sang โ€˜The Bestโ€™ (Tina Turner) to K&K that got to enjoy it fully from front row seats - because you can sit wherever you like in your wedding ceremony.

Advice from a wedding celebrant.

An unforgettable, joyful wedding ceremony that feels like a true reflection of you doesn't happen by accident. It happens by choice.

If that's what you want, I have just two pieces of advice for you:
1. Choose a celebrant - one who actually gets you.
2. Choose to ditch the demure act and be your real, glorious selves.

Day 20 of : 'Advice'.

Print your guests.

Why not show off your guests too? You invited them to your wedding because you love them, so show them.

Sarah and James pulled off the most incredible details at their festival wedding back 2023, including these hilarious photos for their guests to find at the tables after the ceremony.

The 'inbetween' moments of joy or apprehension, of contemplation or connection.

In between those perceived "meaningful" moments, where we let our guard down, are my favourites.

Sometimes it's just before or after the ceremony, but sometimes it's right there in the wedding ceremony.

I can change. In the toilets, into Elvis mid ceremony and the set up quickly if your outdoor ceremony is sabotaged by rain.

'Change' is the 15th prompt for the .

When you do a lot of outdoor ceremonies - like the festival wedding at Old Barn Farm, Hellingly, Sussex, you learn how to pack your bag and change in small places, like festival toilets.

When the groom is an Elvis lover and sometimes-impersonator, it has to be done - a surprise, quick change mid ceremony into a version of Elvis that made him laugh (and relax) before the personal vows.

When it rains on your wedding day and ceremony space in the middle of the field is no longer viable, I can make any marquee, hall or living room as special, because it's the words, joyful delivery and bringing people together that matters - like M & P's gorgeous wedding.
